German chancellor cancels New York trip amid political pressure

Friedrich Merz has cancelled a trip to New York to attend the UN General Assembly amid political pressure at home.

The German chancellor was due to fly to the US next Tuesday, where he was to be awarded the "Henry Kissinger Prize" by the American Academy in Berlin. He was also due to address the UN General Assembly.

However, he cancelled the trip following his Christian Democrats (CDU) party's poor performance after the hard-Right Alternative for Germany (AfD)'s triumph in the Saxony-Anhalt election and growing discontent within his own party.

The loss, in which the AfD was close to securing an outright majority, has caused mounting political pressure on Mr Merz and his party with a number of leading conservatives calling for his resignation.

"Contrary to original plans, the chancellor will not travel to New York next week, as his presence is required in Berlin," a government source said on Tuesday.

Mr Merz will instead attend a CDU parliamentary group meeting on Monday and a CDU/CSU parliamentary caucus meeting the next day, where he is likely to face anger from his party.

A party source also said Mr Merz's conservatives have called a special meeting for Sunday to coordinate the CDU response to upcoming votes in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Berlin, to chart the party's course with support at a record low and to demonstrate unity behind Mr Merz's leadership.

Johann Wadephul, Germany's foreign minister, will instead address the UN in New York. Mr Wadephul also represented the country at last year's event.

Culturally Germany is disintergating. Its core was rotted by the self imposed devastations of the 20th century. Today the people have embraced neo pagan, decadent hedonism. Ironically they control the EU ( the lands they once conquered and were “liberated” by Americans) and spread their rot. Morgenthau was right. Germany should have been treated in a definitive manner in 1945.

Two crisis points.

First, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern state election this weekend....his party probably won’t clear 7-percent. Major meeting with top members of the party after this....with suggestion that he wants a confidence vote among them. If they say no....he’s likely to give notice.

Other issue...gas price crisis brewing. Around eight plans being discussed. At least four of the plans will create a tax collection crisis (if picked).

Do you think the pro-gay Catholics will prevail over the Muslims?

Merz not joining the Mamdani ‘Kill the Jews tour’? I heard Macklemore may perform. It sounds like it may be a blast.

No. Pro gay Catholics have fatally confused tolerance with acquiescence to the perversion of homosexuality and its practices. They themselves are morally comprimised. They in the long run have no chance against dedicated Muslims.
