GOP super PACs have committed more than $40 million to the race over the last week, as the attorney general faces a tight race with Democrat James Talarico.
DALLAS — Texas Republican Ken Paxton is getting a major infusion of financial help in his Senate battle with Democrat James Talarico.
A new super PAC linked to Senate Republican leadership has purchased at least $32 million in airtime to boost the controversial Republican attorney general, according to the tracking service AdImpact. And President Donald Trump’s super PAC threw $10 million into the race last week.
The wave of GOP spending comes as a number of recent polls have shown Paxton slightly trailing Talarico, including a recent AARP poll that Trump pollster Tony Fabrizio’s firm helped conduct.
And it arrives after months of pleading from national Republicans for Trump’s network to spend big to bolster the scandal-plagued candidate the president helped propel to victory in the primary.
At the Republican National Committee’s convention this week in Dallas, Trump said he will continue to visit the state to back Paxton.
“We have to elect Ken Paxton,” Trump said during one of his two convention speeches. “We have to. We...

Guys like Talarico probably look at Mamdani laughing at the names of the dead and thinks, “So what? It’s a celebration, isn’t it?”
This is the normal path for most races. Labor Day is the kickoff and the real ads begin now.
“Scandal-plagued” and “controversial.” Thanks, Politico. I didn’t realize he was a bad guy
Talarico is stronger than Beto.
I thought POLITICO went out of business.

That’s right, b*tches.
At the halfway point of the 11th Hour!!
“Talarico is stronger than Beto.”
Correct. And Texas has imported the freaks from California to help with the Austin nutcases. Add on top of that, Republicans that sit on their asses on Election Day and you have a perfect storm coming.

No, he isn’t.

This candidate is the "noncontroversial" and "non scandal plagued" candidate in the race per this author.
Cruz carried the transplants while Beto carried the native Texans.
Just like with President Trump's 34 felonies "scandal", Paxton was impeached on the last day of the legislature's session, and none of the allegations of corruption were ever tried in court.

They might throw a few bucks at the NC race. I’m seeing ads running about 10 to ZERO for Cooper. None for Whatley. Then again the Republican Party just might be funding a Democrat’s campaign
Yep. :raises hand:
If Texas falls to the leftists, it will be because of the native Texans.
He’s running a better campaign defining himself and the issues before his opponent had a chance to.
But the reality is...if the reality of who he is and what he stands for (see the post above), and the things he has said were widely known, he’d be lucky to get 40%. 20 years ago he would have been lucky to get 10%.
I wish I could get the ear of these super PACs just one day - see my post above - it would be relatively inexpensive to do a mass printing of each of those articles and mail a copy of them out one by one each day from now to election day to likely registered voters. Also have copies of them printed and have volunteers pass them out at the diners where the old timers hang out. News travels. “This guy said what????!”
Abbott’s line should have won it for Paxton, “There will never be Sharia law in Texas.”
