Trump Called It: X Uncovers Massive Chinese Bot Farm Targeting U.S. Data Centers
Red State ^ | August 28, 2026 | Teri Christoph

The Global Government Affairs team over at X dropped a bombshell Thursday night, revealing that the X Safety team had uncovered proof positive of a foreign influence campaign targeting the build out of AI and data centers in the United States.

It turns out that, after launching an investigation, the team uncovered a massive bot farm consisting of roughly 200,000 "suspected Chinese inauthentic accounts," including hundreds that appear to have been trying to manipulate debate in the U.S. over artificial intelligence, data centers, and the associated energy costs.

...

According to X, about 200 accounts within the bot farm network were posting claims that data centers drive up household electricity prices and put excessive strain on the power grid. Some of the accounts, ironically, posted AI-generated cartoons depicting data center operators getting rich while ordinary American citizens were stuck paying the bill.

This article discloses an attempt by the Chinese government to discourage US investment in Data Centers by attempting to manipulate debate in the US.

Now why would China want to shut down the development of Data Centers here in the US while pursuing a buildout of their own Data Centers?

Now why would some patriotic Americans repeat Chinese propaganda?

The attempt by China to discourage US Datacenter Development has been successful, look at the paranoia about their construction around the country, it’s become a significant campaign issue, even here on FR it’s an issue that has really incited a lot of people.

One wonders if those opposing Data Centers recognize their contributions to Chinese dominance when they post Chinese propaganda?

You now have politicians from both parties openly campaigning on stopping datacenter construction and slowing down or stopping the development of AI systems.

Developing datacenters could be legitimate issue, but slowing down AI development would be insane, IMO.

The way to contain and protect yourself from the dangers of AI it to use AI has a countermeasure.

You want to prevent AI from hacking into the systems of other companies, countries, and individuals is to used AI to prevent this from happening, humans are not capable of this at the speed AI can develop news ways to break into systems.

Just like when OPEC was funding anti-oil/drilling protesters in the US.

To me, these actions of China have risen to the level of ‘attacks’ on the US - as in ‘stealth war’. China's leadership is every bit as hardline as the IRGC, and their goal is world domination. We need to start targeting them, and there are lots of ways to do this (e.g. Leaking false data on our weapons systems and any other technology that China would like to steal from us. This should be the kind of false data that they won't immediately recognize as such and that they will waste money on trying to replicate etc.).

I had a post-doc at one time that I found out was sending our data back to China. When confronted they said “I sent it to get their opinion”.

The sooner we realize that the world is full of people who want to supplant us (or worse), the better off we will be.

Biden's 2019 quote: “China is going to eat our lunch? Come on, man. I mean, you know, they're not bad folks, folks. But guess what? They're not, they're not competition for us.”

Half of Red China’s (and North Korea’s) population is busy 24/7 trying to compromise our military, industrial and commercial databases...and have been doing so for decades.

Within the trade, we tell leadership "We need AI to protect our AI against AI. Some get it, most don't.

I’ve heard the argument that AI could be used to develop bioweapons that target individual races or groups of people or the population of an entire nation, no question that could happen.

Humans are simply not capable to deal with this type of attack, the only way to protect people from AI created Bioweapons is to use AI to develop countermeasures.

Hopefully, this article, will, if they even read it, cause some to rethink their support of China.

“This article discloses an attempt by the Chinese government to discourage US investment in Data Centers by attempting to manipulate debate in the US. “

ACTUALLY, this article is illustrative of the major effort to paint all this who care about the enormous environmental impact in their backyard...as Chinese collaborators.

What decent American would want to be party to that?

Edify yourself and ask Google about water and power usage...and noise generated by these enormous datacenters.

If you oppose Hitler then you must be a communist.

Same tactic.

We have “edified” ourselves. And do not buy into the hype.

I have and the claims about water and power usage and noise are overblown and greatly exaggerated. Now perhaps you’ll ‘edify yourself’ and ask google about Chinese propaganda designed to obstruct the US competing with China.

Hitler was the founder and leader of the National Socialist Party so if you opposed Hitler you must be an anti-communist.

Let’s have that debate.

Prominent tech investors and lawmakers have asserted that anti-data center sentiment is heavily influenced or funded by foreign adversaries aiming to slow U.S. artificial intelligence infrastructure growth, however independent researchers point out that opposition is fundamentally organic, driven by real-world issues such as high water consumption, noise pollution, and spikes in local utility bills.

Also, Hitler didn’t found the NSDAP, he was paid to spy on them, then joined the organization. It was founded by Anton Drexler and Karl Harrer in 1919.
