Iran denies Trump's claim that new talks will begin on Monday

Iran has denied Donald Trump's claim that new talks on ending the conflict would begin on Monday, after the US president called off what he said would have been "massive" strikes on the country.

Speaking on board Air Force One on Sunday, he said Iran "knew the extent of the attack because they saw it forming", adding: "We're talking to them in the form of a negotiation. It begins tomorrow afternoon."

In an earlier post on Truth Social, Trump said he had been asked by Iran and US allies in the Middle East to "hold off" as the "perimeters" of a deal had been agreed.

But on Monday Iran's foreign ministry denied they were negotiating with the US, or that there were any plans to do so.

The Iranians said there are no talks - so that pretty much guarantees there are talks, right?

Resume bombing, Mr. President. And don’t stop until AFTER they’ve signed.

This is painful and embarassing. Trump seems befuddled, regrets starting this war, blames Netanyahu and even his own advisors who counselled against it, and is pathetically seeking to make a “deal” with untrustworthy people. Conservative true America first patriots are also anguished because they see Trump’s power (used mostly to strengthen America) being drained and legitimately fear that the demonic, open borders Democrats will ride the economic and political backlash to power.

People lie for personal advantage? Who knew?

Perhaps we need the lies, if only to convince the ego that progress is being made. The id is continuously demanding, and the super ego is standing off at the side, murmuring “Tsk, tsk”.

Trump is no such thing. And he doesn’t regret starting the war. If he did, he’d be looking for scapegoats to blame it on.

Maybe if DJT actually followed through on one of these threats, he’d be taken seriously. What is this....the 6th time he’s called off a “massive” strike at the last minute due some negotiation hallucination? Seventh?

Rinse and repeat. The rannies will play this game for years....

Iran: Mr Trump, we agree with your proposal.
Trump: Are you sure?
Iran: Absolutely.

Trump: I want the media to know that Iran has agreed with my proposal.

Iran: The man is a liar. We have agreed to nothing.

I’ve been here for awhile and remember how slow FReepers were to see the idiocy of Bush’s globalism and his war in Iraq (I was one of them). It was very difficult to come to the realization that we were tricked.

Then I remember watching Trump ride this widely understood truth into the White House. He was openly criticizing GWB and tying Jeb to him, ruining his political career. He said that Middle East regime change wars were the dumbest thing this country ever did. We, former Bush supporters, applauded him, volunteered for him and elected him our nominee and then President.

Slowly people are starting to see that once again, we have been tricked.

The price we paid the last time (8 years of 0bama) will be nothing compared to what we will pay next time.

No, it doesn't.

It might mean that Trump is just typing whatever random thoughts come to mind on Truth Social

The only way we are “winning” the war in Iran is one of the following ways...

1.) Putting 100’s of thousands of boots on the ground and taking 10’s of thousands of U.S. casualties.

2.) Deploying nuclear weapons for the first time since WW2 and the first time in a pre-emptive, offensive war, forever changing the global dynamics of nuclear war.

3.) Widespread bombing of civilian infrastructure which would result in mass destruction in Iran’s neighbors during the retaliation and 100’s of thousands or possibly millions of Iranian civilian casualties.

Which of those 3 do you choose?

I very much fear you are exactly correct. It was not just 8 years of obama, it was more like 16, even when Trump was in he was not very effective, not long lasting anyway.
