ICE plans to target Haitians as Temporary Protected Status is set to end, sources say
CBS News ^ | 07/26/2026 | Camilo Montoya-Galvez

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has made plans to ramp up operations to arrest and deport Haitian migrants, as hundreds of thousands of Haitians brace for the termination of their legal status, according to two agency sources and federal documents obtained by CBS News.

***During the 2024 presidential campaign, Mr. Trump amplified baseless claims that Haitians in Springfield were eating cats and dogs.

The internal plans for a potential arrest and deportation blitz have been made as more than 300,000 Haitians prepare to lose deportation protections and work permits under the Temporary Protected Status, or TPS, program. The Supreme Court last month sided with the Trump administration in its efforts to end the TPS programs for Haitians and Syrians. That ruling's binding mandate is set to be issued to lower courts on Monday.

*** Significant portions of Haiti are controlled by criminal gangs, and the U.S. has generally limited deportations to Cap-Haïtien, in the country's north, due to the instability and insecurity in the capital of Port-au-Prince. The State Department urges Americans not to visit Haiti under any circumstances, citing the rampant violence there.

*** In a statement to CBS News, the Department of Homeland Security, which oversees ICE, said it "does not discuss ongoing or future operations." It argued TPS has been used as a "defacto amnesty program" and suggested that those set to lose their status should self-deport.

"What we would say now is it's closing time which means you don't have to go home, but you can't stay here," DHS added in its statement. "The good news is it's not too late to get a $2,600 check and a free flight home."***

Thank you very much and God bless you.

1- The Temporary Protected Status for Haitians has been implemented since the 2010 earthquake.

2-Temporary should not mean permanent. And while I’m at it, a boy can’t be a girl

3-For a lazy Sunday afternoon, a deep dive into the contrast between Haiti vs the Dominican Republic (same island, different results) is illuminating. I will start off with Haiti being 95% black, the Dominican Republic being around 11% black.

4-Get ready for cries of racism and MSM sob stories regarding the “plight” of the Haitian immigrants.

5-Remember folks, it’s a dog-eat-dog world…unless you are from Haiti where the people eat your pets.

The plague of HRC is all over Haiti. Webb Hubble’s daughter should be on their national flag.

We have 6-12 of them in my small town of 4000.

Store employees dislike them intensely because they try to intimidate them when they don't like something or realize Americans don't haggle at the checkstands. Afterwards, rambling off with their load of groceries purchased by us taxpayers. Because they don't work, and I have yet to see one drive a car.

Please come get this filth out of my home.

Notice the MSM use of the word “targeting”. It’s not by chance.

Dogs and cats across the fruited plain long for this and will breathe a sigh of relief when it is done.

Years back the newly arrived Haitians played an important part in auto insurance fraud. Who will take their place?

If anyone wants to know there is an enclave here that was established a couple of years ago by one of our local employers, a German poultry grower. Don’t know their immigration status but it should be worth a peek. Most of them stay at a hotel on the west end of town. Cats and dogs have disappeared from that area and nobody knows why.

Does ICE have a tip line?

My city on the prairie has brought in buttloads of wonderful Haitian culture, and the Section 8 housing is well-stocked with Haitians that apparently do nothing but walk around all day. The national sport seems to be walking as slowly as possible across a street, willfully ignoring traffic large and small.

In my old age, I am pretty affable and conversational with our transplants in general, but Haitians and Somalians seem to have a weird blend of hostility and superiority baked right in.

Regardless of their immigration status changing and possibly going back home, I'm still not getting a pet due to the government and societal abuses that food producers endure.

They’ll take their chances here rather than go home. Nothing to go home to.

I’d turn the entire island over to the Dominicans. They claim it anyway. Law enforcement would then be the biggest employer.

I’m half Hispanic, though I’m descended from conquistadors and my family has been here for more than 400 years. That’s for all you Johnny-come-laties from the Mayflower

No matter what we’re still going to end up with a whole bunch of Hispanics, but at least you can do something with them even if it’s second or third generation. Faith and family are important to them. Their countries mouth fidelity to our shared western values, though rarely living up to them.
They can be assimilated, if we tried

But people like the Haitians and Somalis come from utterly failed cultures and societies. We can’t do anything with them. Ship every damn one back where they came from. Our dogs and cats will thank us

Camillo needs to convince his employer, SeeBS, to take in all the Haitians and care for them. Provide everything for the freeloaders. Shelter, Food, Walmart spending money, education, healthcare and anything else you can squeeze into a piñata.

Good catch. The only ones doing the targeting during the second Trump Administration are the peace loving “love is love” Democrats.

“it’s not too late to get a $2,600 check and a free flight home.” I would think $2,600 American dollars would buy a lot of marijuana, beer, and other things in Haiti. Take the money and run, Haitians!
