Half of President Donald Trump’s MAGA base thought the Iran war was worth its economic costs in May. Now, just a little more than a third do.
That precipitous, 13-point drop in just two months, according to a new POLITICO Poll, reveals how the president’s most die-hard supporters are starting to agree with the majority of Americans who have long opposed the U.S.’ involvement in the war.

The White House is “at a maximum level of frustration right now, and I was told by very senior people that the president is now fully aware that the only way to the victory that he wants is completely politically impossible. The American people just will not support the kind of escalation it would take at this point,” said one person close to the White House, granted anonymity to discuss private conversations. “We’ve got more dead Americans and a politically impossible situation.”

The poll is not the lead story here; it's the quote from the "White House insider."
Have at it.
The deep state has their tentacles everywhere.
But they’d better brace themselves, because nothing can stop what’s coming.
What's coming?
Many polls are like climate models. Engineered to indicate a desired result and set public opinion rather than report it.
The same can apply to selected “quotes.”
No one ever polls me. And everyone I know doesn’t care one whit about wiping Iran off the map. It should’ve been done the day after we got our hostages back!
What people DO care about is high gas prices, and those two topics are linked.
Also, it’s TDS Politico ‘reporting’ so take that with a grain of salt - no, take that with the whole salt LICK block, LOL!
No one I know cares about the gas price.
What about Pol Pot?
New poll shows Trump voters losing patience with Iran war
I don’t normally pay attention to Politico but it’s only common sense that American patience is running lower. Has there ever been a war in recent times when patience is not lost?
The 2 month cease-fire that was only suppose to be 2 weeks was way too much time to give the enemy time to regroup and make deals with Russia and China. If not already, I’m sure North Korea will be sending them help with missiles as they did to Russia against Ukraine.
Furthermore the world has lost free movement thru the gulf so by default with its threats and capabilities to blow up civilian cargo ships and oil tankers Iran does have control of the gulf which they did not before the war.
But I have faith that Trump will in good time meet the objectives that Iran will be nuclear free, unable to threaten its neighbors with missiles and the new recently added objective - take complete control of the gulf eliminating any possibility that Iran can threaten ships in the gulf.
Anything less than that is our defeat.
People don’t like a half war.
Nobody ever polls me either.
(How do they choose people to poll, anyway?)
I doubt that.
The one commodity that affects the price of almost everything is fuel (both gasoline and diesel).
Yes, I am impatient. I want Trump to bomb the living hell out of Iran,.. more and more and more.
Trump should be aware that the only way to the specific victory that he wants is now, completely politically impossible.
Massive Airstrikes: U.S. forces have carried out consecutive nights of bombardments targeting Iranian maritime capabilities, missile and drone storage facilities, and coastal surveillance sites.
Severe Infrastructure Threats: Trump issued a public ultimatum on Social Media Platform stating that for every Iranian attack on vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, the U.S. will destroy one specific Iranian bridge or power plant.
Naval Blockades: The administration reimposed a naval blockade to disrupt Iranian shipping and protect commercial vessels.
Targeting Nuclear Sites: Trump has explicitly threatened to strike deeply buried nuclear-enrichment facilities, such as the site at Pickaxe Mountain.
Despite these escalations, the conflict remains active, with Iran actively retaliating and vowing a “head for an eye” response.

Besides mildly higher gas prices does the average American even know we are at war with Iran ?
I am amazed at how low the bar becomes for what is acceptable when a Republican is in office.
Two lives lost? The casualties are massive.
Biden in the White House? Two lives lost? No big deal.
I know gas prices are higher. I get it. But when compared to other “wars” we have been in recently, it is not comparable. It is this President that gets zero leeway.
Funny, when the gas prices were lowering a year ago, that never made any headlines.
thank God we have a President who does what needs to be done instead of being whipsawed by Politico polls ... how’d trying to satisfy the polls work out for RINO squishes like Bush, McCain and Romney and the USA? ... a USA President should lead, not follow polls ...
Just like Americans in 1945 wanted to wipe Japan off of the map.
From today's National Review of all places:
A War Restrained by the People
"The American people are done with war. They will not support war. They will not (voluntarily) pay for war. They will not make sacrifices to support war. They will not encourage their kids and grandkids to fight in wars. They won’t vote for politicians who promise war, and they will punish politicians who get them into war. It’s not Trump who’s making America more isolationist. It’s the American people. And they are going to win this fight.”
