Trump claims voting by noncitizens is rampant in America. The numbers tell another story.

Trump says noncitizen voting is a widespread Democratic plot to influence elections. A Reuters data analysis reveals a far different picture: a small number of often inadvertent violations. The finding comes amid an expanding federal crackdown that has ensnared hundreds of people, many of whom never cast a ballot.

According to U.S. President Donald Trump, America is a hotbed of voting fraud – and foreigners are major culprits.

He has portrayed noncitizen voting as part of a broad Democratic Party conspiracy to dilute Republican power. He has claimed on social media that “Crazed” Democrats allow unvetted migrants to enter the U.S. “SO THEY CAN VOTE, VOTE, VOTE.” He has called for elections to be nationalized due to the danger of noncitizens casting ballots. And he has described illegal voting by noncitizens as so widespread that “cheating is rampant in our elections.”

He has offered little evidence for his allegations of widespread fraud, however, including his claim in a primetime speech on Thursday that 278,000 noncitizens are registered to vote.

Now, a new Reuters analysis of federal court data undercuts Trump’s assertion that a conspiracy of noncitizen voting is afoot in America.

Case records show that federal prosecutors have charged just 129 people under a federal “voting by aliens” statute created by Congress in 1996, Reuters found. More than two-thirds of those prosecutions – 86 – have been filed during Trump’s five-and-a-half years in office. In none of the cases did prosecutors allege a coordinated effort to influence an election. And no defendant was accused of being paid to vote. Instead, many appear to stem from voter confusion, miscommunication with election officials or administrative errors.

One of the people swept up in Trump’s crackdown is Dora Damatta‑Rodriguez. The 72-year-old Panama‑born grandmother had lived in the U.S. for decades before

They aren’t necessarily voting- American democrats are voting for them by using the registration system to bulk up the numbers of unclaimed ballots which the Democrats can then allocate to themselves.

Illegals are mainly the problem because their numbers (and transients too) are used to rig the census against actual citizens, and create shadow districts that affect the electoral count.

What numbers did they even look at? Which states turned over their voter rolls?

There's a reason Los Angeles refused to obey a court order to purge their rolls of 1.2 million bogus registrations (Judicial Watch had brought that suit). If Trump had said that, it would have landed better, just like talking about electronic tabulation without mention of Smartmatic machines being developed in Venezuela.

Citation to publicly available data matters, however embarrassing to the likes of Reuters.

Trump as nearly always is right.

Those breaking the law in this respect aren’t going to brag about this on social media, they don’t want a news story written about them and how they broke the law and how often they did it.

This is a story where as you “dig” it begins to grow.

But no one was digging: https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/816f1gf3rcL._AC_SL1500_.jpg

Oh, I see. They looked at cases charged. If CA and NY and IL and a few others would turn over their voter rolls we might see more charges. But even still many of them won’t get charged. Proving all the elements of vote fraud is difficult. I could register some immigrant’s name - doesn’t mean he got the ballot or cast the vote. This is a red herring. Or a straw man. Or a straw red fish.

In a pre-election poll, more than 10% of non-citizens claimed to have already voted. They dismiss that as “insignicant” or people answering how they thought they were supposed to. Maybe it’s not absolute proof of millions of people illegally voting, but it is sure good reason to make sure they don’t.

Same thing with college students in college towns.

The dems gain power by cheating.

They get accused of cheating.

They investigate the cheating and find nothing wrong.

The “news” people say no cheating exists.

250,000 illegals on voter rolls can determine an election..but what commies want is for ALL illegals to vote that way they stay in power forever..that is why they brought them here in the first place, for congressional seats and eventually election voting

If non-citizens are not voting, why do Democrats fight voter ID so hard? The Never-Ending Pasta Pass has higher security than our elections.
