The New York Times said on Saturday that the U.S. Department of Justice had ordered several of its journalists to testify before a federal grand jury after they reported on security concerns involving President Donald Trump's new Qatari-donated Air Force One.
The media organization said subpoenas were issued on Friday, asking that the journalists appear before a grand jury on Wednesday to testify "in regard to an alleged violation of federal criminal law."
...in some cases delivered to reporters' homes by federal agents, the news outlet reported. It described the move as "an extraordinary escalation in President Trump's efforts to threaten and intimidate independent news organizations."
In a statement to Reuters, a Department of Justice spokesperson did not confirm or deny the subpoenas but said the administration was not targeting reporters but was concerned about people leaking classified information.

Shrink your inner circle Trump administration. Interrogations of staff, not reporters is more appropriate.
Anybody with a brain knew qatar force one doesn’t have sufficient counters.
Reuters paywall.
Why do foreign enemies need spy agencies when they have the NY Times?
Blame the person that told the New York Times
Fair enough. I stand corrected.
To be fair to the NY Times journalists, many Freepers (including me) figured as much out regarding security concerns without any access to any “sources.”
The article states the White House is indeed going after staff.
"but said the administration was not targeting reporters but was concerned about people leaking classified information."
Naturally the way this article is slanted, it makes it seem like reporters are the bad guys. Which they are. But that's besides the fact.
A judge ordered the Pentagon to give access to reporters, unescorted. This may be the FO phase of that silly ruling.
EC
STOP CARRYING ‘JOURNALISTS” ON AF ONE
AT THE PENTAGON-—NOT ON AF ONE.
at the time i thought it was imprudent for NYT to publish story due to security concerns. but of course they did.
That the gorgeous plane lacks anything is absurd.

Maybe the idea is to find out who is leaking the info to them. Also, once they know it is security info, don’t publish it.
Yes we do. There are certain required features on a plane to have counters. The gifted plane doesn’t have those features. This has been known for a while.

Another idiot judge ruling? I can’t keep up with them all.
It’s not like the story was a secret. Trump even made up the story that the new Air Force One was being diverted to the UK.
It was a TRAP...😉
