Politics Israel, Lebanon sign framework peace agreement following US-backed negotiations

Israel and Lebanon signed a framework peace agreement on Friday — icing out Iran and its proxy group Hezbollah — following four days of negotiations in Washington.

“In this performance-based trilateral framework agreement, Iran is out, Hezbollah is out, and the road to peace between Israel and Lebanon is in,” Israeli ambassador to the US Yechiel Leiter said at a signing ceremony.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio described the agreement as a “first step” to returning Lebanon to its prior prosperity before Hezbollah moved in and promoted terrorism.

“The people of Lebanon have suffered tremendously now for decades as a result of outside interference in their affairs of countries trying to use the country as a launchpad for attacks, and this is not what the people of Lebanon want. That’s not what they deserve,” he said.

“What they deserve to have is what they once had — and of which there is recent history of — and that is a prosperous and peaceful country, a diverse country where people of different backgrounds were able to live and coexist side by side in many ways was the envy of the region and of the world,” he continued.

“It will take a lot of work and some time to get back to that point, but we believe today is the first step in that journey.”

After an Israeli soldier was filmed viciously sledgehammering Christ on the Cross in a Lebanese Christian’s backyard shrine, many asked if the Israelis are bombing Lebanese Christians.

Israel bombardments in Lebanon have struck Christian-majority areas, towns, and holy sites. The Israeli military predictability states its operations target only “Iran-backed Hezbollah militant groups,” but the Israeli attacks have caused Christian civilian casualties and widespread destruction in Christian communities. -—— NBC News

Historic Christian villages near the border—such as Rmeich, Debel, and Yaroun—have suffered heavily from the crossfire, Israeli artillery fire, and home demolitions. Broader Israeli airstrikes have also hit Christian-majority areas further north, such as the town of Aitou and the hilly town of Ain Saadeh east of Beirut. -—— NBC News

Lebanese Christian civilians, as well as high-profile Christian political figures have been among those killed. Sacred Christian sanctuaries honoring Christian religious symbols have sustained severe damage from Israeli bombing.

Human rights organizations and news agencies have documented multiple instances of churches and monasteries being struck or demolished by Israeli bombs. ——— Middle East Eye

A Catholic charity, L’Oeuvre d’Orient, condemned the destruction of a Greek Catholic convent in the village of Yaroun.

Israel and the Israeli well-armed military have faced widespread backlash and global condemnation after videos surfaced of Israeli soldiers desecrating a statue of Jesus and vandalizing a church. Following incidents like the Jesus statue being smashed in the town of Debel, the Israeli army has been considered virulently anti-Christian. —— Middle East Eye

For detailed accounts and updates regarding the status of these communities, you can refer to reports by news sources like NPR or updates from humanitarian agencies tracking the Israeli bombing.

President Trump is trying really, really hard to bring peace to this and other parts of the world. He gets ABSOLUTELY NO ACKNOWLEDGEMENT. NOT from his political enemies nor even his political allies, excuse me, so-called political allies. What he is trying to do is actually very difficult and may actually be impossible. I, myself, have my doubts. Trump is like Batman and there by his side is Secretary Rubio, his Robin. Let us keep these men and the others working with them in our prayers.

The female Lebanese official who signed the trilateral framework agreement with Israel and the United States is Nada Hamadeh Moawad, Lebanon’s Ambassador to the United States.

US-supplied weapons and munitions Congress gave as “gifts” to Israel were designed to protect American families......but are actively being used in the Israeli bombardment of Lebanon.

Human rights organizations and weapons experts have consistently identified American-manufactured equipment in strikes across the country......including Israel bombing many Christian populated areas.

Key details regarding the use of these weapons include:

Remnants recovered from central Beirut and southern Lebanon have been verified as US-made. This includes Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) guidance kits manufactured by USA’s Boeing, BLU-109 bombs, and heavy unguided “dumb bombs” (like the MK84 2,000-pound bomb).

Incendiary Weapons: Investigations by media and human rights groups have also identified the use of US-made white phosphorus munitions in Christian areas of southern Lebanon.

Civilian Casualties: Documented strikes using US weapons have resulted in civilian casualties, including the deaths of Christian medical personnel and relief workers.

Advanced Technology: The Israeli military’s use of advanced US precision-guided munitions (such as the GBU-39 Small Diameter Bomb) has been a prominent feature of the conflict, with unexploded remnants ..........drawing urgent demands for retrieval by Washington.

Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International have continuously pointed to US-supplied arms in apparent violations of international law, demanding an end to these transfers.

You can review ongoing investigations into the weaponry used in the conflict on the Human Rights Watch Lebanon and Amnesty International portals.

by reposting these (mostly) lies, you associate yourself with them.
And you harm Lebanese Christians (those that the Islamicists haven’t driven out or murdered). The remaining Lebanese Christians have exactly one actual helper that is enabling them to remain (or re-achieve) free status in the middle east, and that is the IDF. Without IDF, the Islamicist murder gangs (particularly, Iran-backed Hezballah but also the remaining PLO/Fatah) would have free reign to expel the last Lebanese Christians (or have their way with them there, which as we have all seen is much worse).

Incidentally, the one Israeli soldier who desecrated a church statue has already been tried and punished — found guilty, sentenced to 30 days in military detention and his career is kaput. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated he was “stunned and saddened,” while Foreign Minister Gideon Saar issued an official apology to the Christian community of Lebanon. Further, the IDF has even replaced the crucifix with a new fancy ornate statue appropriate to the particular church involved.

Israel regularly tracks down, arrests, tries, punishes any acts of desecration. There is always some marginal friction between the several religions but in the middle east only Israel reliably provides protection and punishes violators.

For your information. We hope that you will consider the harms and refrain from posting or associating yourself with these kinds of distorted “reports” in future. They are far beneath your dignity. Thank you.

The plethora of US weapons stored in Israel.......officially known as the War Reserve Stockpile Allies-Israel (WRSA-I)........ is a network of Israeli warehouses containing billions of dollars’ worth of US armaments originally mfg to protect US families.

While WRSA-I equipment is designated for US military use, the realtime dynamics of this stockpile and broader US-supplied arsenals in Israel include:

Stockpile Access:
The WRSA-I was originally created for US forces. However, ;aws passed by the obedient US Congress.....and bilateral agreements pushed by persistent Israeli lobbies....allow Israel to draw from these stockpiles in emergencies for expedited transfers.

Direct Shipments using tax dollars:
Many of the US-supplied bombs and guided munitions documented in Lebanon—such as the 2,000-pound Mark 84 series and GBU-39s used in decapitation and urban strikes—have been delivered to Israel directly from the US ........via expedited military gifts enabled by the obedient US Congress.......and includes additional emergency replenishment packages.

Oversight Revisions:
In late 2025, the obedient US Congress changed US legislation to expand the transfer framework for the WRSA-I cache.........emphasizing secrecy by eliminating certain State Department and Congressional reporting requirements.

The obedient Congress has made it more difficult for independent observers to publicly track exactly which items are drawn from the Israeli stockpile in real-time.

For more details on the scope of the stockpile’s legal framework, you can read the Center for Civilians in Conflict Article or the Just Security Analysis on WRSA-I. Track global munitions usage through Human Rights Watch or related conflict monitor reporting.

Lebanese Christians makeup roughly 30–40% of the country’s population—with a massive diaspora spread across the Americas, Europe, and Australia. Within Lebanon, the Christian population is heavily concentrated in specific regions and denominations.

The historical and religious heartland of the Maronite Catholic community, which is the largest Christian group in the country. Key towns include Annaya (home to the St. Charbel shrine) and the Kadisha Valley (a UNESCO world heritage site famous for ancient monastic communities).

Particularly East Beirut and the Ras Beirut district. The capital has significant populations of Maronites, Greek Orthodox, and Melkite Christians.

Northern Lebanon has Significant Christian communities: (Maronite and Greek Orthodox) reside in and around Tripoli, Batroun, and Zgharta.

The Beqaa Valley: The city of Zahlé is a major hub for Melkite Greek Catholic Christians, while the Greek Orthodox have strong historical roots in villages stretching into southern Lebanon.

The Global Diaspora of Lebanese Christians represent an overwhelming majority of the estimated 14 million Lebanese people living outside the country spread across the Americas, Europe, and Australia.

My favorite sayings of the ancient Greek philosopher Socrates include:

A. “The unexamined life is not worth living.”

Meaning: This reflects his belief that a life lived without critical reflection, self-awareness, and questioning of one’s values is devoid of true meaning.

B. “I cannot teach anybody anything. I can only make them think.”

Meaning: This represents the distinguished “Socratic method” of critical thinking, emphasizing that true understanding comes from independent thought and self-discovery......... rather than simply being handed answers by others.

thanks for the report (albeit it is not unbiased...)

it is encouraging that we have provided a good amount of supplies for the IDF in a forward-stationing manner

we knew about this, of course, and we cannot be sure the details of the report are reliable but to the extent it might be somewhat accurate, it is reassuring. of course, we have similar forward sector supplies stored in many countries around the world...

best,
