President Donald Trump declared that Iran 'really wants to make a deal' early on Monday morning, just hours after the US military launched strikes against Iranian drone facilities.
In a late-night Truth Social post shortly after 1am, Trump insisted diplomacy remained within reach despite the latest exchange of fire, while simultaneously lashing out at critics he said were undermining his negotiating position.
'Iran really wants to make a deal, and it will be a good one for the USA and those that are with us,' Trump wrote.
But the president also took aim at what he called 'Dumocrats' and 'seemingly unpatriotic Republicans,' accusing political opponents of making it harder for him to navigate one of the most dangerous foreign policy crises of his presidency.
'Don't the Dumocrats, and various seemingly unpatriotic Republicans, understand that it is MUCH tougher for me to properly do my job and negotiate, when political hacks keep negatively 'chirping,' at levels never seen before, over and over again, that I should move faster, or move slower, or go to war, or not go to war, or whatever,' Trump wrote.
'Just sit back and relax, it will all work out well in the end - It always does!'
Trump's post comes and amid growing fears that the fragile ceasefire between Washington and Tehran could be unraveling after the latest round of strikes.
They came after the US accused Tehran of shooting down a US drone and threatening ships traveling through regional waters.
US Central Command announced that American fighter aircraft carried out what it described as 'self-defense strikes' against Iranian radar and drone command facilities in southern Iran after a series of what it called aggressive actions by the regime.

The strikes targeted a ground control radar station and command-and-control sites for drones in Goruk and on Qeshm Island, according to CENTCOM.
The military said the operation was triggered by the shooting down of a US MQ-1 drone that was flying over international waters.
‘The measured and deliberate strikes occurred on Saturday and Sunday in response to aggressive Iranian actions that included the shootdown of a US MQ-1 drone that was operating over international waters,’ CENTCOM said in a statement posted on X.
Deal coming soon.
Very soon.
Soon.
15 days to slow the spread
Also, respectfully, please lead by example on the "chirping."
I don’t think it’s too late for that. Trump is urging patience and I don’t think it’s too much to ask. There’s so much forethought to be given. To have optimal situational awareness and a clear vision of preferrable outcomes takes time. He seems to have all the cards like he says, but what we don’t know is how many Jokers there are for him to have and play with. He has to know if, when and how to play them all in real time and by his rules.
He keeps saying a deal is coming while he continues to bomb them everytime they raise their heads. It reminds me of how a hostage scenario works in the movies.
Trump has no clue on how to conduct a war...
“He keeps saying a deal is coming while he continues to bomb them every time they raise their heads. It reminds me of how a hostage scenario works in the movies.”
When IRGC clowns fire on US, they light up their launch bases, that we immediately demolish by jets and other means.
You might want to elaborate on that and why you’re so sure of it.
You couldn’t fight your way out of a paper bag.
He can sure blunder into one though
Trump is making a fool of himself. It’s obvious to everyone but Trump that Iran doesn’t want a deal. What they want is to drag this out as long as possible until Trump is weakened politically and just quits. Why would they make a deal if Trump allows them to yank his chain?
Finish them.
The question is this. Is time on trumps side? I used to think that the mid terms said no. Now, I think redistricting and oil rerouting and other adjustments now give a different answer. Time is on trumps side.
I want to see nuclear weapons used against the entire northern coastline and inland 100 miles to destroy Iran’s missiles and drones they use against the straight and then one nice big FU bomb dropped on Tehran for good measure.
Of course time is on Our side.
The BOTs need to hit their Reset Button. They seem stuck on glitch.

Unfortunately the polls say otherwise. Oh that's right, when the polls say something we don't like they are bogus. My bad.
Well - you certainly got the TDS rolls out in force with this one.....used to be there weren’t so many morons here, but your article brought them to the fore....
To the TDS morons; Trump is negotiating while proving he has all the Aces in the deck and is willing to use them.
Trump knows that he was elected in part because he was going to keep us out of costly foreign wars. That’s why he’s trying so hard to come up with a deal. I can respect that, but he also needs to understand that this war has already been going on for a long time, and he’s in a position to finally put it to an end.
