The Trump administration attacked a judge for releasing an accused murderer, but it withheld existence of the foreign warrant.
A federal judge said Monday that the Trump administration had put her security at risk by posting a “patently false” allegation that she knowingly released an ICE detainee with an international warrant for murder.
Justice Department attorney Kevin Bolan profusely apologized to Rhode Island-based U.S. District Judge Melissa DuBose for the press release posted last week by the Department of Homeland Security, which Bolan acknowledged “simply was not true.”
Bolan said that he didn’t tell the judge about the foreign arrest warrant because Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials instructed him not to. The officials, Bolan said, were concerned that law enforcement in the Dominican Republic, where the warrant was issued, had not signed off on sharing that information.
But DuBose noted that the Trump administration itself had publicly disclosed the existence of the warrant in a press release earlier last month. She also noted that the April 30 release slamming her — “Activist Biden Judge Releases Violent Criminal Illegal Alien Wanted for Murder”— remained online Monday.
“The April 30th, completely erroneous and dangerous press release is still on their website,” the judge complained, adding, “It puts people at risk. It’s a threat to judicial security.”
“I’m not trying to make this political,” the Biden appointee added. “It’s also very important that the public has the facts. As long as this particular post is out there, it’s setting up a false narrative.”

Melissa Raye DuBose (born 1968 in Providence, Rhode Island) is an American lawyer and the current United States District Judge for the District of Rhode Island, serving since January 2, 2025 Wikipedia. She is the first person of color and first openly LGBTQ judge to hold this federal judicial seat Wikipedia.
Background and Education
DuBose earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Providence College in 1990 and a Juris Doctor from Roger Williams University School of Law in 2004 Wikipedia. She began her career as a public school social studies teacher in Providence before entering law.
This is a bit of a head scratcher. Because in a press release, the Trump admin had previously stated that this illegal alien goon has a murder warrant out in his native DR. Seems judgey poo of color and her flunkies never read it. Please do not look at her internet photo. It is under FR embargo.
A judge should not need to be spoon fed information that was made public. It’s her job to know what is going on and I am sure she has plenty of helpers to keep her informed through multiple methods.
Her and her system failed in due diligence, and on that, she chose to release person who should have not been.
She could be lying because of the heat.

Judges like this bulldyke are a threat to public security. Judges should feel the heat from their evil decisions.
If she didn’t know about the warrant then she is incompetent, or she is feigning ignorance.
Either way this judge is unfit for the position.
The judge has a staff that should be looking into such things.
Regardless the person is a bad person, would not be an issue if she did not release him.
IMO nothing more than chickens coming home to roost.
