I accept the principle ... but when you have the Shetlands and Orkneys, why?
Of course, one would want to pick smaller, uninhabited islands. Because we are compassionate, provide basic construction tools for building shelter, basic survival gear, and fishing tackle. Airdrop military field rations and water when weather permits.
Give them some simple radio gear to notify the authorities when they want to go home. Any other country that objects would be free to take them.
