My father-in law was born in Finland and during WWII he joined their Merchant Marines, lying about his age being 18, but really 17. Out to sea, a Japanize war ship captured them and all were put into a war camp in China. After the war ended, he was lucky to be alive and weighed about 80 Lbs. He had stomach surgery and soon complained that it was too good and gained too much weight.

He:s not political. He’s a “just the facts, ma’am” kinda guy. Very knowledgeable about the global shipping industry, including insurance, regulatory bodies, etc. Nice source for investors, as shipping costs, supply chain issues, etc. affect prices, stocks, futures, and so on. He’s cool!

I would second all that, but add that Sal has a very soft spot in his heart for the mariners / crews on the ships. That’s ok, just take it into account. After all, he was once one of them.

FWIW, I don’t know if the USS Bush is going to the Middle East, but, it looks like it and its strike force need to. We need to quickly get to the point where we can tell the Iranian people “go for it”, because otherwise the drone attacks will be very hard to eliminate. Ballistic missiles are easier to “shoot the archer”, and the arrow makers too, and even rather scattered operatives among the people can help us find the ones in underground hiding.
