It’s amazing, but your headline has a typo.
The headline says 1.5mm. The site says 1.5cm (ten times bigger).
1.5 cm.
That’s still pretty small to take anything bad out of you, unless you are very lucky. It might be big enough to do some repair work, though.
.
When I had emergency surgery in Texas they used the “Davinci Robot.” The surgeon didn’t even touch me. There isn’t even a scar where they went in and the next day I was walking around. It looks like R2D2 with a bunch of little arms sticking out.
Very promising technology. The web site says they’ve been working on it for 11 years.
But the company is struggling. They have no income and no realistic prospect of income for at least a year or two. They need a lot of money to finish developing the system and bring it to market. How will they raise the money?
In 5 years, their stock has fallen from $444 per share to about $0.50 yesterday. The NYSE delisted the stock last week; now it trades over the counter.
According to public statements from former employees, they laid off about 2/3 of their remaining staff last week, after large reductions starting last year. Most of the people who designed the system are probably gone.
They need someone to invest tens of millions of dollars so they can finish the system. Then they can compete with the already-established DaVinci robot.
