Last month, the Colorado Court of Appeals heard the appeal of 70-year-old former Mesa County Clerk Tina Peters. Peters is serving over 9 years following her August 2024 conviction at La Vista Correctional Facility in Pueblo, Colorado. Peters was condemned to this medium-security prison, despite Peters’ being a non-violent, first-time offender.
On Wednesday, Peters was denied bond by the very same court. In Colorado, a defendant has 49 days to seek review of a decision denying bond from a district court. Peters’ bond appeal came “more than fifteen months after the district court issued the order,” the ruling states.
The appellate court has not yet ruled on the merits of Peters’ arguments, but rather only on the bond issue thus far.

A total Hackorama.
Our legal systems have become a joke.
She needs to identify as an illegal alien. A judge will demand her release within minutes.
Prayers up for this very brave lady!
Must be a preponderance of Dems on the Colorado Appeals Court, that, or too many RINOs aka assistant Dems.
The Defense has 40 days to appeal. I hope they do and find the right combination of words, phrases and semantics to make Tina’s case. She made some mistakes, yes, but not enough to remain locked away from the outside world like some mass murderer.
I say we revoke her citizenship and send ICE in to get her.
States should not be allowed to hold political prisoners. If only we had a justice department.
The Department of UNjustice.
This is along the same lines as the January 6th people the Democrats held behind bars for years basically as political prisoners. If/when the Dems get back in control anyone on this forum should not be surprised if their henchmen show up at your house if you ever even said anything that could be misconstrued. And that mean all of us, brothers and sisters.
Maybe we could get a federal judge to rule they have to release her. Federal judges seem to be butting into everything under the sun these days anyway.
Tina would have been released by now if she had murdered someone instead.
Big time.
The law applies to Gold Star mothers and fathers. It’s disgraceful that you are trying to use that.
Give her a pardon, that’s fine, but not on that basis you simp.
Stop personally insulting others on this site. You may disagree without insults.
Welcome to the Soviet Union.
Does this make anyone’s blood boil?
This is so unfair that it makes sense why the wrath of God is upon society.
MYOB ahole
From that, it appears that the Court of Appeals got it right. It was her lawyer and the district court that got it wrong.
A Republican Congress could draft her onto the Federal Elections Commission staff.
