Donald Trump was "wrong" to diminish the role of Nato and British troops in Afghanistan, Downing Street has said, after the US president claimed allies stayed away from the front line.

The Brits haven’t been happy since we kicked their asses out of this country twice, and then saved their asses twice more.
Well, truthfully they sent I think 2500 troops. We’re about to send 1500 just to settle Minneapolis down. Not to disparage the UK troops who went there but it was tokenism.
HA! 👍
Funny how everyone waits till they’re safely back in their corner cuck chairs in their enclosures before they come out and fling their feces at Trump.
Who cares? When you're a third rate 'has been' power and have a "leader" like Starmer who is sinking you fast, no one cares.
Heh, heh. Still butthurt over all that unpleasantness of the 1770s and 18teens.
They sent more than that. They lost 457 people, including 405 KIA. That’s not a token commitment.
He was talking about NATO troops, not the Brits. And as to them , f ‘em. The Brits are not and never have been our allies.
This ‘’special relationship’’ bs they go on about is all in their heads.
Beat me to it!
In Iraq, they were a total disaster and a huge part of the problem.
They openly sided with the Shiites and colluded with Iran
457 deaths in relation to a population of 68 million is just about right when our deaths were 2,459. Trump should apologize.
“They lost 457 people, including 405 KIA. That’s not a token commitment.”
Correct. It’s a complete disaster.
The only Brits I like anymore are Tommy Robinson, and Waifu Amelia.
Over the duration of the conflict about 150000 Uk troops served in Afghanistan (not all at the same time of course)

Amelia now has some company...

See the three young ladies, with their flags, at the link.
They were the first troops in, alongside the Americans and the last ones out. Taking into account the population difference of the two countries the death toll of British troops, who were in some of the fiercest fighting, was approx equal to the American death toll.
Over the 20 years Britian rotated over 150,000 troops in and out of Afghanistan
“He was talking about NATO troops, not the Brits. And as to them , f ‘em. The Brits are not and never have been our allies.”
Wrong. They were our allies in WWI and even more greatly in WWII. It was from Britain that we mounted the D-Day invasion of Nazi occupied France and with the Brits kicked Hitler back to Germany. As to the U.K. and Afghanistan it was NATO troops that helped the U.S., and that included the U.K. and others from NATO.
