A former British soldier has been arrested for allegedly helping Russia assassinate Ukrainian politicians in exchange for money, intelligence officials said.
Ross David Cutmore was detained by Ukraine’s state security service in October after he was accused of importing and doling out weapons that were used in the slayings of three prominent Ukrainians, the Kyiv Independent reported.
Months after he arrived, he allegedly quit the job and started acting as a spy for the Kremlin.
He later provided the weapons used to murder politician, Andriy Parubiy, as well as activists, Demian Hanul and Iryna Farion, officials alleged.
Cutmore, who had experience from serving in the British Army and a stint in the Middle East, went to Ukraine last year to help train Ukrainian army personnel as a military instructor.

Assassination is a proud Russian tradition.
Apparently assassination is also a tradition here in America. We never even bother to get to the bottom of it. Let me count the times. Not to mention the CIA assassinations we don’t know about.
Sounds like he should sought asylum.
“Not to mention the CIA assassinations we don’t know about.”
Ah, so the CIA is now guilty of imaginary crimes. Riiight.
One of us worked for the agency.
Can you guess which one of us?
Such naïvety and faith in our betters is just so gosh darned cute and charming, dontcha think?
Absolute stupidity on full display.
Snicker…
Our own CIA would never do such things except for ....
We will ultimately find they were financed by Russia or their allies.
Seems to have a similar story to the wanna-be Trump assassin.
Put the crack pipe down, Whitney.
KAY
But you’re not like him, Michael. I thought you weren’t going to become a man like your father. That’s what you told me...
MICHAEL
My father’s no different than any other powerful man —
Any man who’s responsible for other people. Like a senator or a president.
KAY
You know how naive you sound?
MICHAEL
Why?
KAY
Senators and presidents don’t have men killed...
MICHAEL
Oh — who’s being naïve, Kay?
“One of us worked for the agency. Can you guess which one of us?”
I’m sure you did a fine job mowing the lawn.
What makes this story interesting is that it ties together three distinct assassinations spanning multiple years, locations, and personal stories.
One of the assassins is a Lvov local and the father of a Ukrainian conscript who was killed in fighting near Kursk.
The father claims personal revenge was the motive for killing the national socialist leader Andriy Parubiy, and has disclaimed any ties to Russian intelligence services.
Likewise, the man who shot Right Sector extremist Demian Hanul in Odessa in February 2025 was a local Odessa resident with no prior criminal record but a history of disciplinary issues in the military.
The third person killed was the neo-nazi linguist Iryna Farion, who was shot dead in Lvov in July 2024. Her killer is allegedly another neo-nazi extremist and teenager from Dnipro.
All the captured assassins are Ukrainian, all those killed were neo-nazi scum and it remains to be seen whether 'Russia did it' can be proven...but at least there's now a more complete pattern emerging with the arrest of Ross Cutmore the British mercenary and gun dealer.
It is a shame it wasnt your piece of head I kicked out of the way in Laos after our bombs stopped.
“It is a shame it wasnt your piece of head I kicked out of the way in Laos after our bombs stopped.”
What were you doing that the USAF was bombing your position?
I have seen some dumb people on here. But you top the list.
