Ever since Donald Trump welcomed Zohran Mamdani into the White House, we’ve been hearing the expected rhetoric from various usual suspects. Trump has sold out. He’s gone over to the dark side. Mamdani outwitted him and made him look like a fool in his own hometown.
This has largely come from two sources: the hysterics who live for the moment where they can begin caterwauling that it’s all over, that nothing can be done, that we may as well give up… (Yeah, that’s right – I’m talking about you in the comment threads.) …and the sincere but limited individuals who simply have no understanding of how things actually work. These people are taken aback by anything less than full hostility and open fanaticism from members of our team. Every comment has to be a shout, every remark a threat, every gesture an attack. Just imagine if your neighborhood went by those rules… Though come to think of it, some people’s neighborhoods probably do.
It’s difficult to second guess Donald Trump. He's always has been so far ahead of everyone else that it’s pointless to count the number of dimensions he’s operating in. By now, he reached his apotheosis. He’s five steps ahead of everybody.
For those in doubt, some idea of what Trump is actually up to regarding the Caliph of Manhattan can be gathered from this quote by the master of strategy, Sun Tzu: "If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Proof he is a Freeper?
Trump is from NYC. He has deep roots there. That probably played into his invitation to Zorhan the Angry Madman ... he does not want NYC to be destroyed.
...we've been hearing the expected rhetoric from various usual suspects... taken aback by anything less than full hostility and open fanaticism from members of our team.
They're actually plants and trolls working for the other 'team'.
I always trust that Trump does things that aren’t always immediately understood. He did this for a reason and I suspect it will either bear fruit, or inflict pain on the opposition.
The dilemma as I see it is if the federal govt continues to pour money into NYC directly of via pass-thru fed money from New York state, Mamdani and his supporters can claim credit for programs subsidized by federal dollars. Thatcher was spot on when she said: "The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money."
The problem with our fed govt is that it continues to fund anti-American states, cities, programs and institutions with 'other people's money'. Every city and state should be an experiment in what works and what doesn't government-wise. Every city and state should take credit or blame for its governance. The injection of Federal dollars into cities and states skews or destroys our ability to learn form governments that work and avoid those that do not.
Trump was sizing the dude up. One problem with our side is that we are almost as bad as the other side in thinking we should ignore the competition and whine instead of taking heed when we are criticized.
There is much more to this story. Best to let it play out.
Same here
Mamdani is a CIA asset.
How do you know that?
