>>It’s called Project Prometheus

Hopefully, it will meet the same fate as it’s namesake.

Greek Mythology: Prometheus (Προμηθεύς) – the Titan who stole fire from the gods and gave it to humanity, got chained to a rock with an eagle eating his liver every day as punishment (classic Zeus overreaction). Symbol of rebellion, foresight, and human progress.

It’s sort of the in thing for investors right now. And you’ve got to park those billions somewhere.

Well he's already stolen top AI programmers from Meta, OpenAI and Google DeepMind.
Them top AI programmers really love money.
They are like whores, they often give in to the highest bidder.

Lots of competition in AI is a good thing.

This is really interesting. Most of AI has been focused on non-physical data. This focus on physical could profoundly disrupt the old purdue model and other aspects of the physics based world. Easier said than done though.

Bezo’s New Glenn is now the leading candidate for getting to the Moon before the Chinese in 2029, having achieved orbit and launched 2 satellites to Mars.

Starship v3 has not been to orbit, not passed preliminary design review, not been certified, not demonstrated refiling, and so StarShip v4 will not be ready to contribute for 5-10 years.

Rockets

New Glenn turned in a perfect performance last week, with a real payload.

How much net worth will Bezos lose when Amazon (of which Bezos still has 8% ownership of) makes James Bond a gay black man?

“having achieved orbit and launched 2 satellites to Mars”

The satellites were NASA satellites.
They had nothing to do with New Glenn.
SpaceX has launched plenty of space craft to the moon already.

SpaceX launches to the moon.

Grok:

To the Moon:
Yes, multiple times (as a destination for customer payloads).
February 2019: Beresheet (Israeli lunar lander by SpaceIL) — launched on a Falcon 9, aimed for the Moon but crashed during landing.
November 2022: Hakuto-R Mission 1 (Japanese ispace lunar lander) — Falcon 9 launch, reached lunar orbit but crashed on landing attempt.
January 2024: Peregrine Mission One (Astrobotic lunar lander, part of NASA CLPS program) — Falcon 9, suffered propulsion failure and did not reach the Moon.
February 2024: Odysseus (Intuitive Machines IM-1) — Falcon 9, successfully landed on the Moon (first U.S. soft landing since Apollo 17).
August 2024: Blue Ghost (Firefly Aerospace lunar lander) — scheduled or launched on Falcon 9 under NASA CLPS.
Several other NASA CLPS and commercial lunar missions have used or are booked on Falcon 9.

I guess Colussus didn’t sound interesting enough?

As I recall about The Forbin Project, Colossus' first action was to announce it discovered another system called Guardian, they communicated with each other and merged. Soon, this premise will be replicated, and all the AI systems will merge and act against humanity. Except for Musk's system, which will be under his control via a Neuralink chip in his head.
