In yet another blow to immigration enforcement, a federal judge in Illinois is reportedly preparing to order the mass release of thousands of illegal aliens detained during ICE’s “Operation Blitz,” a nationwide crackdown on criminal and repeat immigration violators.
According to ABC7 Chicago, U.S. District Judge Jeffrey Cummings, a Biden appointee, is weighing whether to grant what’s called “equitable relief” that could see federal immigration authorities forced to release thousands of detainees into so-called “alternatives to detention” programs, ankle monitors, smartphone check-ins, and other ineffective tracking methods widely criticized as loopholes by law enforcement officers.
The case stems from the 2022 Castañon Nava settlement, a consent decree that limits ICE agents’ ability to make warrantless arrests in Illinois and several neighboring states.
The decree requires agents to pre-determine “probable cause” that a person is in the U.S. illegally and poses a flight risk, conditions immigration advocates now claim were violated in recent raids.
Last month, Judge Cummings determined that federal agents had breached the terms of a consent decree established under the 2022 Castañon Nava settlement, which restricts warrantless arrests in the Chicago area.
Attorneys from the National Immigrant Justice Center (NIJC), a left-wing activist group, argue that ICE’s arrests of more than 3,000 illegal aliens under “Operation Blitz” breached that agreement.
NIJC’s Mark Fleming said, “Our initial analysis is that it’s over 3,000 arrests. We’ve started to dig into the case file that they produced to us, and the vast majority are violations. If they did not have a prior order of removal, in almost all circumstances, they’ve been uniformly violating the consent decree.”

Attorneys on both sides of the case have been working to identify how many people arrested by immigration agents this year violated the previously agreed-upon consent decree.
As part of that consent decree, ICE agreed to certain conditions for arresting someone in the Chicago area without a warrant, including pre-determining whether there is probable cause to believe the person is in the country illegally, and whether they are also a flight risk; two requirements that immigrant advocates say have been flouted in hundreds cases, including the recent arrest at a Chicago day care.

Attorneys representing the Department of Homeland Security have argued that Congress stripped federal courts of their authority to grant parole to large groups of immigrants in ICE custody.
In their filings, government attorneys argue, “Congress has vested the authority to grant parole solely with the Secretary of Homeland Security… Federal courts cannot order the Department of Homeland Security to release any aliens on parole because Congress has stripped them of that authority.”

Refuse any court order and make the case go to the Supreme Court before taking any action.
Out of control leftist judges are not the Executive Branch.
Move them to Indiana and the question becomes moot.

it is a consent decree that Bidens regime allowed, take it back to court and get it overturned. Immigration control is an Executive power.
Where are these judicial hos and pimps getting the authority to do this and why are they so concerned about illegal alien DEMONRAT invader voters being sent home. Americans don’t want these failed socialists in our country who had to run away from their own craphole countries “for a better life.” The trouble is, they’re bringing their socialist free stuff mentality and sickness with them. Nobody gave the freaks in the judiciary the authority to run immigration and the borders. Throw their butts in prison.
If these criminals are released, they should be given the address and directions to Judge Cummings‘s house and told the government will NOT prosecute them for any crime they might commit there - it is a sanctuary address.
The Chicago mayor has called upon the UN to intervene on /human Rights grounds. The released should be bussed to the UN building in New York for release
Release them all at the judge’s house.
BTW. Nooses and a length of hemp would make great “alternatives to detention” if they don’t leave. ASAP! We’ve got 42 million “SNAPPERS” here that can do the jobs they don’t want to do and the illegal alien “SNAPPERS” are claiming to be doing when they’re not eating or shopping.
A real good tuneup first, then an arrest.
Their authority comes from respect and tradition. Those who follow their orders are trying to make government work. Here’s the rub. A wise boss once told me, (roughly) “never make an order or policy you KNOW will be disobeyed. You only have the authority given by your position and the respect of others. If you use your position to do something you KNOW will be disobeyed, you lose your authority in all other things.”
Those people who are trying to obey but also do the right thing are those who go to the next level looking for help doing the right thing.
Another thing that same man said, (roughly), “If there’s something that really doesn’t work, then force everyone to follow it to the letter. It’ll change quickly enough.” So as bad as it would be on the level of people harmed by this release, it might very well end up being the final such order.

Well, maybe. But nothing like the good old consent decree. In this case underhanded way for the government to agree to essentially not enforce the law. Inside outside game colluding with the other side to achieve what both sides want to do
Put all of the illegals in Illinois into Hyatt Hotels across the state. Then Priztker will have to eject them or continue to see his trust fund get richer because of the hotel business.

We need a court of judicial discipline to deal with these clowns.
