Will SCOTUS eventually make a ruling and smack down the federal judge? Or will they delay it long enough so the case can be declared moot and dismissed?

Since when do the tyrants in black robes appropriate funds for the US Government?

I think they are hoping for mootness and the circuit court is hoping it goes that way also. They will drag their feet because they know that the district judge is wrong but they don’t want to be the ones to overrule. They know if they don’t overrule, they will be slapped down by SCOTUS.

I notice Jackson would deny it, but neither Kagan nor Sotomayor joined her. I don’t imagine she ever feels lonely.

I suspect you are spot on.

Well, I think it will be moot as of Thursday when the government reopens and funding is restored to SNAP with the CR, which is likely why they extended it to Thursday. They would rather not touch the case, and two days isn't going make much of difference either way.

Already moot once funds are released, but the nonsense ruling from the crazy district court judge had to be held up until Shutdown was officially ended and the funds were available.

No, it's not moot because it's capable of repetition while evading review by SCOTUS. Therefore, it's not moot, and SCOTUS may well hear the case, but the rogue lower court federal judges are unlikely to face any discipline.

Exactly. Settle it as per its constitutionality. That’s your job, Justices.

Traitor Roberts has lost control of the Fed. Judiciary, if it was ever under control.

It’s totally spinning out of control and about to auger in.

Everyone needs to back out of the political angle for half a second.

Here’s why:

It is unconstitutional and illegal for any country, state, business, organization or individual to insert funding into any specific FEDERAL agency or project.

If anyone wants to give money to the federal government, they write a check or transfers funds ONLY into the US Treasury.

From there, Article I of the Constitution takes over and congress appropriates funding out of the treasury with absolutely zero adherence to any intended targeting of said funding from the contributor.

Can you imagine the wild weasel slush fund government without Constitutional structure for appropriations? The entire government would be a result of “donations” to pet projects or interests.
