LONDON, Nov 6 (Reuters) Russian oil major Lukoil's , opens new tab Volgograd refinery has halted operations after it was struck by Ukrainian drones, three sources familiar with the matter said on Thursday.
Ukraine has for several months been striking Russian oil refineries, depots and pipelines, while Ukrainian energy infrastructure has also been the target of Russian strikes in a war that is approaching its fourth year.
They said that the primary processing unit, CDU-5, with a daily capacity of 9,100 metric tons, or 66,700 barrels per day - a fifth of the plant's total capability - and a hydrocracker with a capacity of 11,000 tons per day were damaged during the attack.
Lukoil did not respond to a request for comment. "The plant has been stopped. CDU-5 was on fire, there is some damage to the hydrocracker," one of the sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said.
In 2024 the Volgograd refinery processed 13.7 million metric tons of oil, or 5.1% of the total volume at Russian refineries.

It’s not oil in those pipes but money. Well done.

Your posted images don’t do anything to help Putin/Russia.
Putin would like you to send money to replace the lost funding for the war. Either money or your body for the meat-grinder.
So, what do you think about the loss of so much refinery in Russia? That’s what you should be commenting about. Stupid images don’t do the trick.
This is where the huge battle of Stalingrad in WWII was fought. Named Volgograd under Khruschev in 1961.
Agree. FREE Donbass. FREE Seaball. Slobbo YouCraynee!
Why does anyone care which side wins?
“Why does anyone care which side wins?”
Why does anyone care which side wins in any crime (murder, child rape or robbery)?
Am I my brother’s keeper?
Nice!
I hope it caused a lot of damage.
Bullseye on Russia’s sixth largest refinery last night, 300 miles from Ukraine. The whole refinery is shut down today (over 5% of Russia’s total refining capacity). The main cracking unit and several storage tanks were hit, and set on fire.
Winter is coming.
Europe is well stocked with fuel, and now has plenty of operational spare capacity to import oil and gas by sea. Natural gas prices are within 2% of a year ago, and oil is cheaper.
Russia on the other hand, is experiencing blackouts, fuel shortages, and grim prospects, just as their nights begin to dip below zero, and the darkness of Northern Winter descends.
Putin’s former “energy weapon” has now been fully turned onto Russia.
Putin is The Doom of Russia.
Rosneft and Lukoil are rapidly following Gazprom, from long term cash cow, into money losing wards of the State.
Because of Putin.
Oh, are they still at it? Uh…yay Youcrayne and Slobbo Blorpska and stuff.
Anyway, what are your Thanksgiving plans? We celebrated it when we lived in Italy, but we were able to get the turkey and trimmings at the commissary on the NATO base. Maybe not so much at the regular local markets?
We don't support Ukraine and we don't care whether it wins or loses. The same when it comes to Russia. We want no part of the whole show; a typical, timeless Slav-on-Slav butcher-fest.
Unlike most Zeepers, we have no allegiance to either place. Our allegiance is to the USA.
America has enough issues to deal with rather than to get involved in a expensive, rotten war between rotten people, 5,000 miles from it.
By the way Michel (Foucault) says he had a fabulous "private" time with you at last week's conference. Will you be attending the next one?
We're working on a topic to bloviate on and we'll update you as soon as we have.
Until then, Slobbo Urcrayknee!!! Free Don Bass!!! Free Largemouth Bass!!!, my Dearest Theodor!
No problem getting a turkey here. The problem is getting one of reasonable size. The smallest I've bought was 14kg, or ~30 lbs - a monster. But the good news is, they're fresh, not frozen and very, very tasty.
Of course, Thanksgiving's not a thing here but my Sicilian friends do love the massive Thanksgiving feast I put on . . .
If we have a quiet celebration then I'll just get a nice, big roasting chicken and stuff that.
Exactly, Rocco !
Hey Allegra,
what are your plans for this Thanksgiving?
This year, Thanksgiving and my birthday are on the same day, so we will celebrate a bit different from the usual.
Family and some friends will all be coming to the house in Florida and they will take care of all the cooking and the cleaning.....
My bestest friend and her bf will fly in from Germany next week. Haven’t seen her in over 6 years, so I’m really looking forward to this year’s get-together with my MAGA loved ones.

“RUSSIA IS BREAKING FROM THE INSIDE”: Putin Can’t Stop What’s Coming

“Russia is entering a breaking point. The silence spreading across the country is not peace — it’s the calm before collapse. The war that was promised to be quick and victorious has turned into a senseless, endless disaster. Soldiers on the front-lines are exhausted, disillusioned, and betrayed. Civilians feel the pressure in daily life, and even the most loyal supporters now avoid talking about the war. Everyone understands something is deeply wrong.
This is not about “victory” anymore — it’s about survival.
The Russian army is losing morale as soldiers are thrown into meat assaults for land that gets lost again the next day. Commanders lie about casualties, generals falsify reports, and oligarchs profit while families bury sons in silence. The war has become a business. A conveyor belt of bodies feeding corruption. Every missile, every drone, every lost soldier is someone’s paycheck.
The Wagner rebellion exposed the truth the Kremlin tried to hide: power in Russia is a fragile illusion. When Prigozhin marched toward Moscow, the government did not defend itself. Institutions froze. Officials disappeared. People waved from the streets. Fear cracked — and once fear breaks, no regime survives for long.
Now the collapse is spreading from within.
• Soldiers return home angry and broken, no longer afraid of the Kremlin.
• Factory workers whisper about strikes.
• Mothers of dead soldiers gather and talk.
• Students share banned information.
• Entire military units refuse orders.
These cracks are multiplying every day.
Putin cannot silence everyone.
He cannot jail everyone.
He cannot stop what is coming.
Russia is breaking from the inside. And once the image of the “strong leader” falls — the whole system follows.
This is the story of a regime that cannot hold itself together anymore. The fortress was always just glass — and the first fractures are already visible.”

“Ukraine has successfully shut down Russia’s Tuapse Black Sea oil export terminal and refinery. Russia stands to lose tens of millions in revenue per day as long as this export terminal and refinery are shut down. Russia’s ability to export their energy products abroad is collapsing.
