WASHINGTON (AP) — In the midst of a federal government shutdown, the U.S. government’s gross national debt surpassed $38 trillion Wednesday, a record number that highlights the accelerating accumulation of debt on America’s balance sheet.

It’s also the fastest accumulation of a trillion dollars in debt outside of the COVID-19 pandemic — the U.S. hit $37 trillion in gross national debt in August this year.

The $38 trillion update is found in the latest Treasury Department report, which logs the nation’s daily finances.

The U.S. hit $34 trillion in debt in January 2024, $35 trillion in July 2024 and $36 trillion in November 2024.

Is this some fake news from the extreme left media?
President Trump is *lowering* the deficit with trillions from tariffs flowing in!

Remember that the GOPe/uniparty/RINOs in congress is your biggest enemy of indebtedness, they join the dems in spending and accumulating debt. The dems have never raised the debt ceiling on their own and a CR is pure teamwork and that’s why we have it.

By September 2025, US tariff revenue exceeded $30 billion per month, compared to under $10 billion per month in 2024.

So that is 20 x 9 = $180 Billion (with a B) extra.

It cost a lot of money to fill the EBT cards of 20 million illegal aliens that Puppet Biden and Alexandor Mayorkas brought into the US.

A large portion of Puppet Biden’s budget was set specifically for illegal aliens. And now during the shutdown, democrats want to give illegal aliens $1.5 trillion in free healthcare.

It absolutely MUST end. Every single illegal alien MUST be kicked out, and no exemptions for how long they have been here.

We are still in the Biden Inflation Reduction Act fiscal year. It should be no surprise that the deficit is still growing.

Congress is using baseline budgeting.

Pres. Trump cannot make them stop doing that.

We need to elect people to Congress who will.

“By September 2025, US tariff revenue exceeded $30 billion per month, compared to under $10 billion per month in 2024.”

Right now it’s excess inventory being sold. Items specifically produced for sale on the US market. Once what was already made is gone, you’ll find tariff funds will drop dramatically.

Singapore has more rich people than any other country based on population size. Singapore has no food stamps, no unemployment checks and no illegals. 1/3 of Singapore’s workers are on H1-B type work visa.

Biden Budget, Democrat spending, all of it. When the new spending bill hits and Tariff money comes, if it isn’t balanced we need to push Congress harder.

This is all about interest rates. 5-Year Treasury bonds were issued in 2020 during the COVID fiasco at rates below 0.4%. As they’ve been coming up for refinancing this year the current 5-year bond rate is around 3.5%. So the interest payments on this debt is almost 9 times higher than it was before.

Speaking of Mayorkas; Where’s that vile POS at? And why is he not being prosecuted and in jail? Did he go back to Cuba or some other communist shitehole?
