We know the average SNAP benefit and how many households are recipients of SNAP.. The other relevant issue is how much other assistance SNAP recipients receive from other programs. For example how many children receiving SNAP also receive free breakfast, lunch, and possibly dinner at school? How much free food is obtained at food banks? What about housing subsidies and Social Security disability payments? It would also be of interest to know how much fraud there is in the program.

More than a 1/8th of the US population on food stamps. This is a huge part of the plan to keep them on the plantation of mo’ government.

In 20 years, the 1/8th with be 1/4!! Slowly but surely. Meanwhile, those government officials like Hawley are making big bucks as the Coke Cola’s and Mar’s Candies of the world tell them to keep that SNAP spigot on!!

They should eliminate the program to save taxpayers money and continue eliminating every government handout programs until none exist.

20% of SNAP recipients are elderly Americans. Not all are the morbidly obese gorillas we see raging on social media.

I came up with just over 9% of the population are on the program

42 million divided by 342 million = 12.28%. or approximately 1 out of 8.

I was going with 380 million, doing my best to factor in all the illegals (which is likely STILL an underestimate). Right after they get their fake ID documents nearly all of them use them to get SNAP and whatever else they can snag from the state they’ve invaded.

But even so, I erred on the math. It’s 10 to 11 percent, closely matching the Federal Poverty Line.

Which is hard to judge itself as wages and costs of living vary widely depending on states/regions.

Thank you for the explanation. Either way, too many people are receiving taxpayer funded handouts.
