Texas Congressman Tony Gonzales allegedly had an affair with a senior aide who later died after dousing herself with gasoline and setting herself on fire, multiple sources have told the Daily Mail.
Regina Aviles, 35, poured gasoline over herself before becoming engulfed in flames at her home on September 13 in Uvalde, Texas – about two hours west of San Antonio. The married mother-of-one, who was separated from her husband, had served as Gonzales's regional district director in Uvalde since 2021.
Sources who spoke with the Daily Mail on the condition of anonymity said that Aviles and the married congressman became romantically involved after she joined his staff on November 21, 2021.
Gonzales's spokesman refused to deny the affair when repeatedly offered the opportunity by the Daily Mail. One source told the Daily Mail that their relationship continued 'for some time' and that Aviles' husband, Adrian Aviles, was aware of the relationship at the time of her death.
Two additional, separate sources also confirmed the alleged relationship with Gonzales.
Gonzales, 43, a Republican, represents a vast district that stretches from San Antonio through Uvalde to El Paso – covering some of the most volatile stretches of the US-Mexico border.
Aviles was frequently seen by his side, including during Elon Musk's high-profile tour of the border in September 2023. At the time, Eagle Pass was considered the epicenter of the border crisis.
Photographs from Musk's visit show Aviles standing close to the congressman and the billionaire as they surveyed areas where thousands of migrants had surrendered to US Border Patrol.

Unless you are with your current spouse, keep your zipper in the upright and locked position.
That is not too much to ask.
That is all.
Thank you.
Now go out and just ruin several lives because that rule is just too difficult. Stupid jerks.
Must have been a hot romance.
It’s not always about sex.
His Old Flame................
His Old Flame................
What? The DM has broken the first rule of “journalism!”
They failed to mention that Gonzales is a Republican in the title, as well as all six paragraphs before finally mentioning it in the seventh.
What is this world coming to? /s
That’s because he’s barely one, a real RINO.
Stop sticking your $#%@s into crazy.
The same district Brandon Herrera is running for. Hmmm...
I’m going to ruin the ending of one of the best movies ever: The Servant. A young woman is hired into the home of a very rich family to take care of a child. The husband seduces her and gets her pregnant. While cleaning a chandelier the mother-in-law pushes her off the ladder to kill the baby. The servant survives the fall but is distraught. In last scene of the movie she douses herself in gas, throws a rope over the chandelair, hangs herself and while swinging over the family who are watching, lights herself on fire. What an ending!
People in Uvalde do some pretty weird s***. They have an awesome standby S.W.A.T. farm team.

Aviles and Gonzales.
New show concept: Gonzales & Scarborough.
Suicide is a low-life move if you have a small child at home.... especially over a failed romance.
1. The press probably presumed he’s a democrat
2. She sure showed him!
How any women “commit suicide” by dousing themselves with gasoline?
