Using the high figure of $100k annual salary per federal employee, firing all of them would only cut the budget deficit $300 billion about 5%.
OK, well get rid of Medicare and the rest. Medicare doesn’t help anyone and it is utterly unconstitutional. That’s a start.
The Left will fight to the death, literally, if you try to dismantle even the non-SS portion (evidence the daily Leftist wrath when Musk was active in DOGE), but it MUST be done.
Then we’ll figure out how to deal with SS.

I have no problem with firing “do-nothing” civil servants. I have no problem shutting down whole agencies.

When we get the fraud under control, necessary actions become easier.
