This statement is almost more sickening than the original tweet. He tells everyone publicly that he is going to reach out and apologize, using the family as a political prop after he wished them death. What a vile person.
Of course he’s still running.
He knows that hate motivates his base.
Gilbert and his family need to bring charges against the retarded J.J. and have his ass locked up for making death threats against the Gilbert family, especially the Gilbert children.

The dems always try to copy the repubs and always miss something...
His comments just give him “cred” with the base.
And these aren’t ancient text messages from a young teenager — it happened just three years ago.
The man made a violent threat, has no shame about it (crocodile tearss b/c he was caught and called out) and refuses to drop out.
Are you OK with that Virginia voters?
Most of Northern VA certainly is. Richmond too.
Probably...especially the women.
The government workers in Northern VA and Richmond will vote for him anyway.

Jay Jones is not going to drop out of the race. Why would he? He knows that the majority of Democrat voters agree with what he said and are happy that he said it. Fantasizing about murdering conservatives and their children is not a scandal on the Left. That’s how they all feel.

Honestly, the Democratic Party is in total moral collapse.
Jay Jones was exposed fantasizing about murdering his opponent’s CHILDREN, and Democrats still endorsed him.
They are giving a freaking PASS to someone who wants to kill his rivals’ children...
Beyond horrifying.
Let him stay in the race. He will pull Stanberger down with him.
The left has normalized this so they see nothing wrong with what that Dem did.
Even for a Dem....
Keep 'em talking.
Encourage them to reveal who they are and what they stand for.
Ditto for California Democrat voters (who make up the majority of the voting bloc) - they would look at killing Republicans and their children as a positive campaign promise.
If I were to bet on elections, I would give better odds to Jack Ciattarelli in New Jersey over Winsome Sears in Virginia. Trump lost the state by less than six percentage points last year and Bergen County, a very typical suburban county northwest of Manhattan, by only three percentage points and the best showing in this century by a Republican. In comparison, Virginia was lost by Trump by five percentage points but his losses in the Northern Virginia suburban counties were in the 15 percentage point plus range.
