What was meant to be a simple hop from London Luton to Alicante turned into a mid-air episode of Lads Behaving Badly, when a stag party went a little too far with their in-flight celebrations.
The Ryanair flight was forced to make an unscheduled stop in Toulouse after the group’s antics escalated from “rowdy but amusing” to “someone call the police, please”.
According to fellow passenger Tania Nichols, the fun started long before the wheels left the runway. “They were already swapping seats, making noise and ignoring the safety rules. It was like herding cats in the cabin,” she told the Daily Mail.
Booze, brawls and bad manners
Once in the air, things only got wilder. Bottles from duty-free were cracked open, inappropriate banter rang through the cabin (much to the horror of parents with kids), and soon a full-blown scuffle broke out. Shirts were torn, seats were spat on, and at one point, a poor woman even got kicked in the head.
The crew tried their best to calm the storm, but when stag-do spirit turned into stag-do chaos, Toulouse became the emergency party venue of choice that Friday September 26.
Police boarding call
French police were waiting on the tarmac, storming the aircraft to applause from weary passengers. Videos online show officers wrestling with members of the group, including one who shouted “you’ve got the wrong man!” as he was dragged away, and another who was literally hauled off by the ear.
Meanwhile, the rest of the plane gave the officers a standing ovation worthy of the West End.
Ryanair’s response
Ryanair confirmed the diversion, praising the crew for their professionalism. “The flight diverted to Toulouse following the disruptive behaviour of a small group of passengers. Police removed them before the flight continued to Alicante,” said a spokesperson.
As for the stag himself, witnesses say he was left on board — which may have been the only quiet moment he’ll get before the wedding.

Yorktown was a combined=arms victory. Washington cornered Cornwallis on the peninsula ... the French Navy under Comte de Grasse prevented the Royal Navy rescuing Cornwallis, who wisely surrendered. Had he chosen to fight, his command would have been eliminated.
