Having traveled East Africa and southern Africa pretty extensively I cannot for the life of me understand how anyone in Africa lives past the age of ten. It's *that* bad.

I remember reading of the first vaccines sent to Africa. In talks with a head man of a tribe who had lost many children, he was told the vaccines would keep them alive..
The chief’s response was...”Then who will feed them?”
