At least two vessels loaded with Russian oil bound for refiners in India have diverted to other destinations following new U.S. sanctions, trade sources said, and LSEG trade flows showed.
The U.S. Treasury Department this week imposed sanctions on more than 115 Iran-linked individuals, entities, and ships, some of which are involved in transporting Russian oil.
U.S. President Donald Trump has urged countries to halt purchases of oil from Moscow, threatening 100% tariffs unless Russia agrees to a significant peace deal with Ukraine.
Three ships - the Aframaxes Tagor and Guanyin and the Suezmax Tassos - were scheduled to deliver Russian oil to Indian ports this month, trade sources said. All three vessels are under U.S. sanctions.
Tagor was bound for Chennai on India's east coast, while Guanyin and Tassos were headed to ports in western India, according to trade sources and Russian ports data. Tighter Western sanctions aimed at cutting Russia's oil revenue, seen as funding its war against Ukraine, have been increasingly hitting Russian oil supplies for India, which buys more than a third of its oil needs from Russia.
Tagor is now heading to Dalian in China, while Tassos is diverting to Port Said in Egypt, the data shows. Guanyin remains on course to Sikka, a port used by Reliance Industries (RELI.NS), opens new tab and Bharat Petroleum Corp Ltd. (BPCL.NS), opens new tab. Indian Oil Corp (IOC.NS), opens new tab, which was to receive the Tagor shipment, and BPCL did not respond to Reuters' emailed requests for comment.

I have a feeling that Trump’s sanctions will have a little more bite than Biden’s. The war fighting may also improve. Time will tell. Russia will regret not working with President Trump.

Sounds like the tankers aren’t having any trouble finding places to take their oil. Trump was warned...
force might work short-term. But longrange market forces will prevail. The best Trump can do is remove restrictions on US oil. For example, oil companies should not be required to subsidize Climate Religion activities.
Bring down the price of oil and we sell to India, and W Europe. I suspect Saudis will side with us.
“I suspect Saudis will side with us.”
I wouldn’t bet your house on that. The Saudis know that once the US has a Leftist government and the conditions are right, they’ll be targeted next. As it was Biden nearly did that during the few months that he was semi-conscious, early in his term.
“Russia will regret not working with President Trump.”
A party to the conflict cannot mediate it.
Trump can blow it up. The problem is people think Trump will act like everyone else has in the past. One destroyed tanker should do wonders for insurance rates.

Two (or more) can play at that game, Boss. Will be fun to see what happens next.
Let’s see who navigates the waters more efficiently. My money would be on the US Navy but maybe Putin wants to try his hand at it since he’s done so well in Urakine.

Doesn’t take much efficiency to take out oil tankers, Boss. And drone subs can do the job without anyone knowing anything. Both sides have lots of cards, is it really worth playing them just to defend the guy that got Trump IMPEACHED?
I don’t care to defend Ukraine but Russia has made direct threats to the U.S 2 days in a row and one of them was a nuclear threat. Screw those guys. Trump need not cower to a country that took 2 years to take Bakhmut.
“I don’t care to defend Ukraine but Russia has made direct threats to the U.S 2 days in a row and one of them was a nuclear threat.”
It was more of a REMINDER, likely based on intelligence that Russia has, Boss. So, if anything, it was an appropriate response to what is now transpiring, given Trump’s initial, vague, threat.
Trump is going to sink tankers carrying Russian oil?
You clowns are amazing. He won’t do that.
Trump can tell the tankers to go back to Russia. He doesn’t have to sink them. Trump could put sanctions on individual Russian companies and force them to return.
Keep thinking Trump won’t escalate. Putin is probably thinking the same thing. He absolutely will to defend America so Putin and Putin Jr. better keep the battle between Russia and Ukraine.
He won’t escalate. He thinks that art of the deal thing will work on war escalation. But he won’t be sinking any tankers, he won’t have US forces conduct any air strikes inside Russia, or attack Russians in Ukraine.
I have no doubt he would defend America. But America is not under attack, America is constantly threatening to attack inside Russia. One of our generals threatened to invade Kaliningrad a day or two ago. That’s what started all of this.
That we're risking WW III by playing world's police when there is absolutely no national interest involved is lunacy.

This general, in this 35 minute video?
Gen. Christopher Donahue conducts Press Conference at LANDEURO

“While it is true that General Donahue talked about the possibility of NATO forces attacking Kaliningrad, the original video makes clear that this scenario is only contemplated as a reaction to an eventual Russian attack against NATO territory. Therefore, his comments must be interpreted in the framework of deterrence and as a warning against further aggression. However, by omitting this crucial context, this disinformation story advances a recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative portraying Russia as an innocent victim of NATO and Western aggressiveness. Kaliningrad is also a frequent topic of pro-Kremlin disinformation.”
Their security counsel threatened nuclear war a day ago. Spare me the anti Trump non sense.
