Its been that way forever.
The Timber industry is prime example. Cut the best, and leave the rest.
We are suffering because of those who took advantage and virtually destroyed sustainable resources. It took a century to recover that resource and now, there are investment companies virtually destroying timberlands that were managed for sustainable yeilds up there.
On the other hand, extremists evironmentalists use that as an excuse to prevent responsible sustainable management of resources uses for America.
Its all about the short term bottom dollar. To hell with anything else.
