I haven’t checked the Trump deportation sticker this morning. Is the plan “to hell with Rand’s plan”, “let’s do Rand’s plan”, “let’s sell out to Big Ag and Big Hotel (hey, wait a minute!) and do Rand light”? Futures are all over the place.
If, at best, it’s just a trial balloon, kinda shows you that MAGA is just a moistened finger in the wind, right?
Yep. Thanks for posting this.
This sure popped my Trump MAGA balloon. The far lefties are screaming about unemployment in the U.S. so they import a bunch of foreigners to pose as “hard workers” doing the “slave labor” Americans don’t want to do. Like Becca Balint (Vermonster-D) says, Americans want the illegals here to wipe their butts for them.
Let's take a wait and see...we may have to issue more temp work passes.
Get ride of the violent ones first while companies who have hired illegals to work at jobs figure out how they are going to replace those workers. Good strategy.
In other words....Common sense....
Didn’t Pres. Reagan do this in the ‘80s? Did it work?
Good article and reasoned thought.
This was like letting the air out of the tires of those that supported POTUS. You can’t twist yourself into a pretzel to justify this.
Some people are giving him bad advice.
The companies that hired illegals should be prosecuted. Funny how there is no punishment to those who aid and abet illegal immigration.
We needed to send the big "no" when our government passed trade deals to replace American workers with cheap foreign labor.
However, we thought that saving a few pennies was more important than our children's future, and we wanted to have the latest and greatest flatscreen TVs every year to watch those football games we were supposedly boycotting.
Not all of us, but you know who you are.
Businesses had two choices, use cheap foreign labor, or go bankrupt.
I was afraid it would be too late after November 2024, but we have another chance. We may not get another, so what are we going to do with the chance we have?
Agreed. That can involve a tough love approach towards welfare recipients in terms of training them for work in agriculture or hotels or restaurants so they can replace the illegals to one extent or another. Been noticing that the trolls have been out in full force of late concerning this and Iran.
I lived in California my whole life and watched it go down due to demographics.....unlimited illegal immigration. Now after they riot and burn stuff Trump says...okay they can stay because the farms and hotels need them? Yeah, not okay.
I don’t agree with his take on allowing illegals to work in the hospitality industry. Those employers knew hiring illegals was against the law, but for the almighty dollar, they did it anyway. Setting things to right will be a painful undertaking, for both the illegal and the business owner, but it must be done. It could be remedied by increasing the number of guest workers, but they must not be allowed to participate in welfare or social security programs, nor bring in other family members, unless they’ve also been classified as a guest worker. But to allow illegals to stay? No, Mr. President, that is not the way to go. In this case, you cannot look at it from a business man’s point of view.
“promoting amnesty”?? LOL- that’s a stretch likely written by a leftist....
It can’t be all door (liberals) and it can’t be all wall (too many conservatives).
Gen 3:24 After sending them out, the LORD God stationed mighty cherubim to the east of the Garden of Eden. And He placed a flaming sword that flashed back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.
Even the most impenetrable immigration walls has a gate. Just one gate.
It is time we begin the discussion on what the big beautiful door is.
.
“We don’t want to hurt our industries but at the same time, we’re telling employees to clean up their act. Let’s take a wait and see...we may have to issue more temp work passes.”
Not that hard if Trump does it right. The employers know who they like, so they can be character references, which can greatly expedite them.
The idea being that they and their families go home first, then Jose (or whoever) applies at home for a work permit in the US. If approved, then Jose gets a LEGAL visa and comes, alone, to the US to work per his visa, and then leave at the end. He can visit his family back home, but his family stays back home.
