The headline is misleading clickbait. The story is worth the read. It appears that Trump and Musk are working as a team on the issue of tariffs.
The claim that Musk “lost billions in the market’s reaction to the tariffs” is questionable. In order to realize a loss, Musk would have had to sold stock for less than it cost him. I haven’t seen any evidence that Musk sold billions of dollars worth of shares during the most recent market pullback.

Stocks were up 18% in 2024. Now the stocks are down 20%. Which really means paper loss is only 2.5% during the last 12 month period.

Agree with you, thegagline. From what I can tell, Trump also wants zero tariffs between the US and Europe.
I also think it’s a positive thing that the people around Trump are not a bunch of robotic yes-men. There is a difference between disagreeing with your boss, raising issues, expressing opinions vs. sabotaging your boss. I haven’t seen any sabotage from Musk.

Earlier Saturday, Trump appeared to distance himself even further from the tariffs plan as he ripped a top Trump trade advisor in an extraordinary outburst on X.Sooo…Trump is distancing himself from his own tariffs now? Who can believe anything this writer says?

The president's special adviser told a political rally he hopes to see a 'zero tariff situation' between the US and Europe to create a free trade zone.
Isn't that what Trump wants? What we all want? A fair and free trade zone between nations which would alleviate tariffs?
The depth of the lies and deceit of the MSM never ceases to amaze me.

That is exactly Trump’s position! What a BS article. Tesla had bottomed out BEFORE the tariffs!

that isn’t a break with trump!
the point of the tariffs is to force other countries to drop their tariffs at which point we will have real free trade!

That’s the most poorly written, disjointed, confusing article I’ve read in a long time. Do they not have editors there?

This. The tariffs are leverage to get there.

Trump wants Zero Tariff so does Musk. What is FR MAGA to do? Zero Tariffs is the very definition of free trade and FR MAGA wants fair trade.
Free trade is the absence of trade treaties and tariffs. What is Trump doing? Tearing up trade agreements and pressing for Zero Tariffs.

I just watched the entire Speech and Elon may be looking at the door.

Thought that was the goal of reciprocal tariffs.
To: thegagline
Samantha, you are not very bright.
That has been the goal all along.
