Reread the 22nd. It doesn’t allow 3rd elections.

Yes it does, IF the VPs term remaining term after the the President leaves is under two years.
No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once.

I believe you. He should challenge it. Let the SCOTUS vote against him or decline to take the case. 6+ more months of drama. He loses the argument and finishes his term.
We’re more prepared for the afterwards than the left.

It’s called leadership-taking the arrows.

If you’re trying to say JD Vance could serve as president, for more than eight years, you are correct.

But if you’re trying to say JD Vance vance could be elected president himself more than twice, you are incorrect.

No, I am saying he could be elected twice as president, which I understand the original poster to mean. The ten year rule only makes sense if you could be elected twice. His having been elected VP does not count one way or another.

Trump has already been elected twice (de jure, de facto 3 times but the courts wouldn't admit to his 2020 win.) Therefore Trump couldn't run and be elected to POTUS yet again, even if quiting early left him 4 years of the separate 10 year POTUS limit. Now if Trump quits with less than 2 years left JD can can fill out that remainder and still run for two more full terms on his own. But that would officially count as two times being elected POTUS for JD as in the preceding completion he wasn't running for POTUS, but VPOTUS.

I assumed we were talking about Vance the whole time, not Trump.
