WASHINGTON (AP) — A federal judge in Washington refused Friday to block employees of Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency from accessing Treasury systems containing sensitive personal data for millions of Americans.
She acknowledged, however, privacy concerns about their work. DOGE is still limited by a different court order in New York.
In Washington, U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly previously restricted DOGE’s work at Treasury to two employees with read-only access, with the Trump administration’s cooperation. One of those workers later resigned after being linked with social media posts that espoused racism; Musk said he would be rehired.
Kollar-Kotelly, who was appointed by President Bill Clinton, declined Friday to grant a longer-term block. Her decision comes in a lawsuit filed by retirees and union leaders who fear DOGE’s activities could expose sensitive information.
Their concerns are “understandable and no doubt widely shared,” she found. But right now, the plaintiffs haven’t shown they’re at immediate risk of lasting damage from the small team obligated to keep the information confidential, Kollar-Kotelly wrote...

Winning one brick at a time.
Good. How are DOGE employees under Musk any less trustworthy than Treasury employees?
A FEMALE DC JUDGE SIDED WITH TRUMP????? OMG!!
Miraculous! Not being flippant. I prayed about this last night. Not in particular, but regarding the judges obstructing.
Some kind of message may be getting to these black robed crows.
Judge Colleen - - - what the heck?
The problem is we now know that 5 of the 9 SC Justices hate our President. If they can find a way to wiggle and twist to law to rule against him they will. - “Obongo care is a tax”
Biden Treasury hire, Nigerian Wally Adeyemo abruptly quit Treasury when Trump came in.
Ademeyo refused to handover documents chronicling his Treasury activities wrt $4.7 trillion in unidentified payments———nearly $5 trillion Treasury payments had no blank “categorization codes” or descriptions - and are essentially untraceable.
A change as simple as making payment codes mandatory saves $100 billion yearly.
DOGE’s most shocking discovery: the lack of “destination descriptions” on $4.7 trillion treasury funding are nothing more than “blank checks.”
My analogy—the leftist judges are kicking up sand as the tanks roll through.
It looks impressive.
Lol.

Anyone who thinks these things are a secret is nuts. I received a dozen alerts last year about “data breaches” and what info they got. Just about everything though some of it was obsolete other things like DOB and SS number never change.
Ha! As usual we think alike (see my post above).
Oh yes I forgot healthcare providers and insurance companies.
Appointed by Clinton in an era when blue dogs still existed…the judge graduated from a Catholic university before wokeness metastasized.
Still SHOCKED! A woman JUDGE with a BRAIN!
Aileen Cannon was almost chosen before establishment pulled for Amy Coney Barrett - but looks like God had strategically placed her in FL for the Trump case.
