People need to be not only fired for this travesty, but also jailed. Where did those funds go?

“At Fort Stewart, Georgia, for example, soldiers contributed $17 million, but the base spent just $2.1 million — redirecting 87% of the funds. Schofield Barracks in Hawaii collected $14.5 million but used only $5.3 million, meaning 63% of the money was used elsewhere.”

Life at Leavenworth has a ring to it.

Send all of the people involved there for life.

“...Where did those funds go?....”

Probably funneled to NGOs to bring in and care for more illegals.
Yeah. There’s a bunch of folks that need to be arrested and put in jail for this BS.

Recruitment is WAY up since Trump was elected, but this treatment of our soldiers will kill recruitment. This is horrible.

Is it only an Army problem?

I’m sure Hegseth will be all over this.

A small amount of the USAID graft would cover this shortfall. Stop doing a few drag shows around the world, teaching people around the world how to be queer, stop making homo “education” books, stop paying for condoms in Africa and you can feed our troops.

$460/MONTH SHOULD BUY MORE THAN A PIECE OF TOAST AND A SERVING OF LIMA BEANS. If they’re not going to use the money for food, give them back every red cent.

Spit

I am...appalled. I had no idea.

They didn’t do this when I was in.

Pinging my boy to find out if they did that to him when he was in the sandbox.

Ditto. How dare they starve our soldiers. They need sustenance. They need to be fed. The perps responsible even if jailed would be fed better rations. Fire them publish names, and jail them. Feed our troops!

This seems right in character with Biden's DoD pervert leadership.

When I was in the AF, if you stayed in the dorm, you ate free in the chow hall. If you live off base or worked at a remote site, you were paid extra (separate rats) for you meals. Are they actually taking money from the check or are they claiming that if you don’t get separate rats in your check you were “charged” for meals? I’ve been out a while so don’t know how it works now.

A review of financial records from just 11 installations revealed that $151 million, or 67%, of the $225 million Congress allocated to buy food for soldiers living in barracks bought something else, though no one is exactly sure what.

Anyone else thinking yearly audits are a good idea?

Two of 10 messhalls open on Ft Hood are most likely due to low headcounts. Young GIs don’t eat in the messhalls if they have money in their pockets, especially stateside. Headcounts go up close to payday then drop to near zero after.

Send all of the people “involved there for life.”

Yes and let them live off 1% of the funds allocated for their food.

I’m thinking that the Army needs to be told it responds quickly to civilian leadership and that they have been asked what happened to the 67 percent of food funds they diverted from food for the soldiers. An answer Now, today, no delay, period.

Why are troops on duty buying the food? And they end up with this swill WTH? I thought America was better than that.

This is disgraceful.
