280,000 employees on their probationary period? That’s a good start, but the cuts have to run much deeper, especially with totally unnecessary agencies like the Dept of Education. I’ll bet when DOGE really looks around they will find dozens of agencies with overlapping or unnecessary duties.

In the last year, all new hires are likely DEI hires. Very glad they are gone.

They are NOT federal “workers”.
They were federal government employees. The last thing they do is actual work, unless it’s to sabotage a Republican president.

Exactly what's going to be found - redundancy after redundancy. In personnel, budgets, duties. Everywhere.

Constitutes the majority of jobs created during the Biden administration.

I feel for those affected and their families. They were counting on this income. However, OBiden created this problem.
These people’s jobs were centered around LIMITING and PREVENTING freedoms and profits. Trump’s “America first” policies work to EXPAND freedoms and profits. There will be far more PRODUCTIVE private sector jobs for people who, you know, want to work.

Bye. The law does not guarantee you a job for life. Git over it. Sorry. It happens to us all. Did to me in my first job after I went to work after I retired from the Army. New guy goes first and the old timers git to stay. I got over it and quickly found a new, better, higher paying job, a week later. Too bad, so sad for my old law firm. They went under a year or two later. I went on and worked 14 years in the new job before leaving Seattle and coming back to saneville here in Sweet Home Alabama!!! We have been back here for 18 years in July, after I had been gone for 35 years, I came home to complete my journey which began when I was 18 and went into the Army before the Draft Board could nab me way back in 1970. Dang I am old.

This is a purge of personnel hired under the old rules and many are affirmative action hires, but not all. Some will be rehired eventually. At present, three government agencies provide housing loans, HUD, SBA and Agriculture. It may be prudent to consolidate that into a single agency. People looking for disaster assistance may be affected by the reduction in personnel. Trump wants to cut FEMA, but Congress appears not to want that.
