The Plan shall require that each agency hire no more than one employee for every four employees that depart,

No kidding. You can only hire one employee for every FOUR leaving! That stops the growth of government fiefdoms dead in their tracks. And with the various buy-out squeezes, hopefully lots will be leaving.

I never dreamed that I’d see such normal and conventional business practices applied to FedZilla. Hallelujah!!

It's an emergency! They've nearly sunk our ship...Leaving the country close to dead on the floor in every direction.

The corrupt who hijacked the government have too long become an ever increasing greedy, punitive heavy burden on the people. And it only grows in size, scope and corruption. Those on fixed incomes and middle class have been beaten like a drum by these criminals, while the "Public Servants" send their money into the black hole of foreign countries where they in turn get their kick backs, influence and favors.

They need to pay.

Uh oh...nowhere is the word "contractor" to be found in the order. The bastards will try to ramp up hiring of independent contractors. I'm sure President Trump and Musk are onto that game, but they don't spell out how they are going to curtail that.

From the EO...

Reductions in Force. Agency Heads shall promptly undertake preparations to initiate large-scale reductions in force (RIFs), consistent with applicable law, and to separate from Federal service temporary employees and reemployed annuitants working in areas that will likely be subject to the RIFs. All offices that perform functions not mandated by statute or other law shall be prioritized in the RIFs, including all agency diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives;
Wow! That is outstanding.

Well at $36+ trillion in debt we can address the fiscal time bomb the easy way (like this) or the hard way (like 1990 in the Soviet Union).

All offices that perform functions not mandated by statute or other law shall be prioritized in the RIFs, including all agency diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives; all agency initiatives, components, or operations that my Administration suspends or closes;

Hiring Approval. Each Agency Head shall develop a data-driven plan, in consultation with its DOGE Team Lead, to ensure new career appointment hires are in highest-need areas. (i) This hiring plan shall include that new career appointment hiring decisions shall be made in consultation with the agency’s DOGE Team Lead, consistent with applicable law. (ii) The agency shall not fill any vacancies for career appointments that the DOGE Team Lead assesses should not be filled, unless the Agency Head determines the positions should be filled. (iii) Each DOGE Team Lead shall provide the United States DOGE Service (USDS) Administrator with a monthly hiring report for the agency.

Unfortunately, that is all about hiring government EMPLOYEES. It doesn’t discuss contractors.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t have to get specific permission to contract from the head of the Dept or Agency.

“get specific permission to contract from the head of the Dept or Agency.”

I’d sure hope so, but look at all the shenanigans that DOGE has uncovered. Money to house illegals in hotels; Treasury disbursements with no purpose noted; Social Security being paid to people 125 years old; lots Social Security payments going to people without SS numbers.

If those Department heads are pulling that crap, they cannot be trusted to NOT hire contractors.

Maybe you brightboys missed the part where it said the DOGE staff are cancelling contracts wholesale throughout the bureaucracy. Don’t need an EO to do that.

DOGE will easily be able to track any new contracts or payments to contractors—so great way to find new managers and employees to fire.

Lol.

“missed the part where it said the DOGE staff are cancelling contracts wholesale throughout the bureaucracy.”

It’s not in the EO. Which is what I was pointing out. If you want to be helpful and not just snarky, please point us to a citation for what you claim. I hope it’s true and it is blindingly obvious, but a solid citation would be good.
