Marco Rubio: "I will NOT attend the G20 summit in Johannesburg."
Twitter/X ^ | 02/05/2025

Secretary Marco Rubio

@SecRubio

I will NOT attend the G20 summit in Johannesburg.

South Africa is doing very bad things. Expropriating private property. Using G20 to promote “solidarity, equality, & sustainability.” In other words: DEI and climate change.

My job is to advance America’s national interests, not waste taxpayer money or coddle anti-Americanism.

Elon was born in 1971, he left RSA in 1988, Mandela didn't become president until 1994, ergo, Elon has NO actual, personal knowledge about what RSA has become, nor how it has devolved between 1994 and 2025. He knows as much as anyone else reading about it from far away; if that.

I probably know far more about it than he does.

Much of his family still lives there. I’m sure he has some idea of what goes on in S.A.

Yes, his paternal side lives there ( his mother is from Canada ), though how much contact he has with his father and his father's family, neither you nor I know.

OTOH...my extended family does live there and we ARE in contact.

He’s amazing. When he was first nominated, I had some concerns. But I love what he is doing....

Who would have knew? Definitely not the “Little Marco” from 8 years ago.

Excellent move. SA farmers are being driven off their farms and often being murdered, all sanctioned by the SA government.

Yes, he whipped Rubio into shape, and he did it with those “small hands” 👏

Trump doesn’t have small hands. He’s a big dude, but Rubio’s comment during the debate stuck with me.

...the potential genocide taking place against the whites..

Each of these crosses represents a murdered farmer. It is more than mere potential.

Wow...Standing up for America and its people...that means you and me. I actually feel like I'm part of my country again.

Now, all we need is a new pope.

South Africa (who always supported the PLO) had the gaul to call Israel an apartheid state. They themselves are a failed nation state, lashing out at normal Democracies like Israel. They support the horrible rulings at the ICC, Hague.
Nelson Mandela was an ANC terrorist, like Arafart he got the Nobel Peace Prize for...?

“He knows as much as anyone else reading about it from far away; if that.”

I would assume that Musk has relatives and friends who stuck around for a while in South Africa and he may have been back there early on. But I get that you probably don’t like him - many in the US don’t, especially now.

No longer constrained by the exigencies of elected office, I think we are seeing the real Rubio the anti-Castro Cuban emerge.
