Obviously if we had taken action to curb climate issues, none of this would be occuring. Or, the current (b)administration is pretty much useless. This church, with a lot of volunteers, are building "tiny" cabins for those in western NC without homes due to Helene. They are doing good work best as I can tell.

I have read that FEMA will not allow these shelters to be occupied because they aren’t built to code. I pray I’m wrong.

Yep...in the sense that they observed who was and wasn’t doing what. They didn’t have much of a choice-—help is help.

BUT the DONORS caught on fast! In addition to local churches, firehouses, etc, there were only 3 major charities that donors trusted: Samaritan’s Purse, Operation Blessing, and an interesting one, Cajun Navy (I think the correct name. IIRC, given their means, they were heroic! I meant to look them up to learn more about them).
