Vice President Kamala Harris is heading to Houston on Friday with U.S. Rep. Colin Allred, the Dallas Democrat challenging Republican U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, for a rally that will mark the duo's first joint appearance on the campaign trail this election cycle.
The surprise visit, Harris' first trip to Texas since she officially clinched the Democratic presidential nomination more than two months ago, comes in the closing weeks of a campaign that has seen the vice president largely focus her efforts on other states seen as more competitive. Her appearance with Allred signals national Democrats’ renewed interest in the Texas Senate race, which Democrats see as one of their few viable options to pick up a seat in the upper chamber

The scary part is Cruz hasn’t distanced himself from Allred in the polls. Cruz is a notoriously poor campaigner, something I got a front row seat to when we moved to Central Texas in October 2018. If it weren’t for the transplants to the state, Cruz would have lost to Beto in 2018.
They’re two peas in a pod. I hope they damage each other. Raving, radical leftists both.
Brilliant! Yeah we just love Dallas down here in Houston. Almost as much as Dallas loves us!
Yeah we need some Dallas democrat to come down to see us ignorant trailer trash in Houston and tell us how to vote for this Indian-Jamaican non-natural born citizen Marxist.
The polls are showing a dead heat, which means that Cruz is comfortably ahead.
Texas is NOT going to choose a Democrat for Senator, especially not a radical leftist Democrat.
Too late, Allred. I already voted for Cruz. Too bad Dallas County will vote for you.
The Allred abortion ads blaming Cruz run non stop. If people don’t understand a US Senator has nothing to do with abortion laws in a state they could get suckered in.
Good. That will help that piece of sh*t lose.
Why is Kamala wasting a day in a state she won’t win? The Obamas and Clinton could fill in for her to campaign with Allred. It’s an admission the Democrats know the presidential race is over and they’re now concentrating on retaining the Senate and winning back the House. I’m sure even Harris knows it too.
“The polls are showing a dead heat, which means that Cruz is comfortably ahead.”
Ahead? Probably (but far from defnitely).
Comfortably? Hardly.
The level of copium which mandates adding [insert random number here] points to every Republican in every poll — especially ones which make us nervous — is off the charts in this election like never before.
“But [company] was off in [some past year] by [some amount] therefore they MUST be off by that amount again because things are exactly the same as they always have been and nothing has changed.”
Just like Rick Scott in Florida, Cruz is not and never has been popular with anything but (at most) the tiniest majority of the electorate. It’s not about electing a radical leftist who is as dumb as a box of rocks, it’s about NOT electing Cruz (or Scott).
Just like in 2020 it was never about enthusiasm FOR Joe Biden; it was all about massive enthusiasm AGAINST Donald Trump. People this year aren’t necessarily voting FOR Colin Allred or the hyphenated femiNazi in Florida — they are voting AGAINST Ted Cruz and Rick Scott.
And if either one of those Republicans lose, say goodbye to Senate control unless we take Ohio and/or at least 1 or 2 pipe dreams in blue states actually come true.
I wonder if Liz Cheney her babysitter will join her.
I think, you are right.
Looks like I might be making a trip to Houston to protest both of these jokers.
Maybe we can get a dozen or so spread out in the venue to pop up now and then and shout “Jesus Is Lord!”
>> I wonder if Liz Cheney her babysitter will join her.
It’s dangerous to be a babysitter in the Emhoff circle. You might wake up pregnant!
The blue cancer is spreading. Austin lost. San Antonia, Lost. El Paso, getting lost. Denton, lost. Houston, gone. Dallas. Going. The population centers are all turning blue.
The democrats must take out Cruz. They hate Cruz and Shumer is dumping more money on that race than any other IIRC.
Moved to Montgomery Co. last April. Voting for Cruz today.
Safe location for her and the black Soros candidate.
That’s odd.
Does their campaign see something in Texas that maybe we’re missing? Or are they whistling past the graveyard?
I understand her desire to do her part to get rid of Ted Cruz but electorally Texas seems like it might be a state too far.
You’d think she’d want to spend her time in Michigan or Wisconsin...
