Governor Chris Sununu (R-NH) said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week” that Vice President Kamala Harris’s message on the economy was “condescending” and “gaslighting.”
Host Martha Raddatz said, “He’s proposed 60% tariffs on China and this week suggested as high as 50% across-the-board tariffs on all other countries. Economists predict that would cause inflation to spike again. How are those good for Americans?”
Sununu said, “Look, the tariff issues are complex. There’s no question about it. I don’t love every tariff proposal he’s put forward, but when it comes to the voter, where this election’s going, no voter is voting on tariffs. It’s a very complex thing. When it comes to the economy, what that really means is, can I afford to bring my kids to McDonald’s? Can I afford to pay the rent, right? The economy is really translating to a cost of living issue when it comes to people in the ballot box. If and when he becomes president, they’ll have to sort out the tariff issue. Is he using it as leverage to force better negotiations? That will play itself out, but the average voter doesn’t look at that. From the political standpoint, it’s quasi-meaningless. It’s the cost of living. Can I afford to buy stuff today that I could buy four years ago?

I’m surprised he didn’t snap.
He could have given a much plainer answer to Martha.
Like
Martha,
Are you willing to let the Chinese communist- mercantilist subsidized economy continue to underprice American manufactured goods and services, costing America its manufacturing base and American jobs…for the sake of cheap Christmas ornaments assembled in China by Chinese child labor?
After 6 years fighting Trump, Sununu seems to be worried about HIS future.
He should be.
Exactly. This Swamp filth has no answers for anything.
But only Independent voters are going to look past inflation to Swamp filth. The Republicans — those who are still kneejerking their reactions from an inflation perspective, will.
But none of this matters. There are no undecideds. No one left to vote is going to be persuaded by Swamp issues or inflation. The only issue left for them is to have a ballot placed in front of them, get it filled out, and collect it. Get it banked.
His answer just showed what a RINO he is.
Be practically agreed with her.
When a politician starts talking economics, it is usually codswallop, with very few exceptions. The ones who do seem to understand the subject (Steve Forbes, Phil Gramm, etc) usually garner very few votes. Trump exaggerates but is closer to reality than the Democrats.
A gaslighting comment from one of the planet’s biggest gas-bags...
I would start to vomit if I was that close to Martha Raddatz. Evil out of touch with normal people - the witch wants us to shut up and ‘eat cake’.
When you wonder why you hate corrupt, more-money-than-brains ‘elties’ just check Raddatz out.
