Back when “global warming” morphed into the always true of something term “climate change” (maybe 1998 or so) I first heard an interview subject say:
“The restrictions are to take down the US and other Western countries from the top of the heap and ruin our economies and free lifestyles. Meanwhile, China and others are exempt as they are said to need to catch up with us, so they have black smoke coming out of factory chimneys and chemical pollutants drained into the water table.”

Still the “secret” behind the stories ingrained by school and media propagandists to children who grow up to hate America and love supposed ecology.
