The CDC hasn't done anything useful since the 1940s ... back when they gassed neighborhoods with DDT. :)

DDT trucks spraying our neighborhoods was regularly done in Houston in the 1950s and I can’t remember if they were still doing it in the early 60s.
They were fog trucks and the kids loved chasing the truck and being invisible in the ‘smoke”.
There was nothing wrong with that. That DDT kept mosquito diseases and misery down. Then some non-scientist lesbo romantic writer from New England decided it made egg shells slightly thinner.
Most estimates is that her ignorant book “Silent Spring” resulted in the death of 30 to 60 million. That puts her well ahead of Hitler, and somewhere between Stalin and Mao.

Yep, that DDT spray through every road in the city. We children would run behind it. It was fun. It must have caused us to die. I sort of doubt it. I’m in my 90s and haven’t seen a doctor in going on 4 yrs. They really should take another look at DDT.
