There was nothing wrong with that. That DDT kept mosquito diseases and misery down. Then some non-scientist lesbo romantic writer from New England decided it made egg shells slightly thinner.

Most estimates is that her ignorant book “Silent Spring” resulted in the death of 30 to 60 million. That puts her well ahead of Hitler, and somewhere between Stalin and Mao.

That's why I said the CDC was doing something useful. That was the first project the agency did.

Yes. Thanks for posting this. DDT was one of the Leftist moves that resulted in the death of millions of people, and sickness of millions more, the loss of American Elm Trees due to Dutch Elm Disease, and a host of other issues.

There was nothing wrong with DDT, it didn’t harm humans and animals, and the only thing that caused problems was the massive overuse of it, resulting in various insects developing a resistance to it.

DDT should be legal. But no, we have to go through this BS.

Many years after Rachel Carson, who in her book “Silent Spring” quoted a scientist who claimed DDT was causing bird egg shells to become thinner, he admitted that he had “cooked the books” and DDT wasn’t causing egg shells to become thinner.

My aunt caught malaria in Connecticut in the early part of 20th century. At the shore. Near marshes
