and most of big tech will still support her.
Though I never thought we’d have a big name like Musk on our side.
And Thiel...listen, he contributes good money and we can’t go losing alliances because they are gay right now.
And no, Musk probably isn’t as conservative as us but again, an ally is an ally during war.
Cuban can go to heck.
My wife tells me Dr. Phil has been rocking for our side a lot lately on his show....did a major piece on China owning land next to silos etc.

Article doesn’t mention AI but I bet that plays a part in recent layoffs. There are low level, number-crunching cubicle jobs that can be done by AI. Companies are going to save money where they can.

I hear the job market for minority non-binary community organizers is about to explode.

Now the engineers are free to pursue, say, poetry. Say Mr. Salesman. I would like to trade my poem for your BMW.

I firmly believe that most Americans don’t care until they are the one being laid off.

Tech giant Apple has laid off employees from its digital services group, primarily affecting those working on the Apple Books app and Apple News.
This by itself is NOT an indication of a weak economy. Apple is still hiring for AI, iOS, etc. Layoffs affecting a Books and News app is about as meaningful for Apple as layoffs at the Washington Post have much to do with the health at Amazon.

Shell just announced plans to slim the workforct by 20%. With the layoffs of 2016 they can’t do that very much by retirements.

I’m surprised that Apple Books is laying people off. My wife alone spends so much there that she keeps at least 100 fully employed.

This has a lot more to do with corporate economics than anything else. Just a few weeks ago the news came out that while Apple spends massively on TV+ content their subscription base is tiny. Money’s gotta come from somewhere, cutting other unpopular Apple stuff is an obvious spot.
