Back in September of 2012, 9/11 to be more precise, there were all kinds of denials--mostly vehement--that any would-be rescuer, and anyone connected with the Benghazi attack was told to stand down.
About the mythologized Benghazi "stand down order," Snopes says, "The legendary “stand down” order, presumed to have stopped a rescue operation, and publicly admitted to have been completely invented by Fox News as nonsense." Weeks and months went by as the stern face of denials was maintained. Hillary held the line particularly firmly.
Then here and there came the leaks from credible, anonymous people who'd been there and had been told to stand down (against the implicit penalty of job loss). They knew the rumors were true!
NDA's had been forced to be signed and we don't need to wonder long what kind of "I'll keep 100% quiet about that" proviso's were contained therein, again, against job loss and possibly other penalties for Breach of Agreement.
Nonetheless, the government's unflinching lies about no "stand down" order have now been walked back and are now better understood. Everyone has had to swallow hard to realize how rigorously those lies and how the resulting lying narratives were held in place.
We should've learned the lessons surrounding the downing of TW800, but for most part, they seems not to have registered. Now, the Navy personnel's forced NDAs concerning any missiles relevant to TW800's downing have effectively been scrubbed from the search engines. The NTSB and FAA reports on that event could instruct generations of would-be nimble, dissemblers how--like Icarus--to get close to the sun without being singed, so as to fall back to Earth.
