A Thursday evening CNN panel devolved into a heated argument after Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) repeatedly mispronounced Vice President Kamala Harris’s name.
Mace mispronounced Harris’s first name a few times during the interview, with various other guests correcting her.
But things became more heated as the discussion went on.
After author and professor Michael Eric Dyson said former President Trump was playing reruns with his campaign statements. Mace quickly clapped back.
“Talk about reruns, Kamala’s—Kamala’s,” Mace began, saying the vice president’s name correctly the first time but mispronouncing it the second time.
Mace was interrupted by former Clinton White House aide Keith Boykin, who said, “You had it right! You almost got it!”
So it’s OK then if we call your preferred candidate Harris? I will always call her QuéMala or Heels Up.
So, Kamala is half Indian and has a common Indian first name but mispronouncing it is disrespectful to her half black side? So, if her first name was Tawana and it is mispronounced, is that disrespectful to her half Indian side under the race baiting rules of etiquette? Somehow, I think most African Americans who have never heard of the name before will mispronounce it, as most non Indians would. Are they racist?

Why are they so nuts about an accented syllable? It’s like when teachers insist on being called Dr.
I know a lot of PhD physicists, mathematicians and the like. None of them go on about being a Dr.
I’m happy to use the honorific. But a person all twitchy about it seems like someone who deep down, knows they aren’t entitled to it.

I saw it recently. I think “Chicks On The Right” played in on their podcast. kaMAla didn’t even know how to pronounce her own name.
Hasn’t CNN moved over to a Comedy Channel? Maybe Mace kept mispronouncing the Hoo Doo Queen’s name trying to get some laughs. Kamabala is not that hard to pronounce.

I noticed this petty democrat name thing recently. I have seen her pronounced KA mala with the hard KA for 3 years now. All of a sudden its KAM ala.
They are whining like bitches now about how her name is pronounced and calling Trump petty. They are even saying its racist to pronounce it the other way.
