Police probably got away with a lot more before these cameras. Police chief in small WV town stops woman for expired registration. He is in an unmarked car and not in regular uniform. She opens the window a crack and asks for identification, which he does not provide. She tries to drive away slowly to her home a few yards away. He points gun at her and threatens to shoot, breaks windows with sledgehammer. She was charged and held in jail for several days without bond.

“Back the Blue”. Until it happens to YOU!
This is a LOT more common than many thought, and all these personal dashcams have started to bring to view more and more of the misbehaviour of the constabulary.
So much for the “Most cops are good guys” narrative that’s been rubbed into our faces for years. If “most” of the cops are good guys, why didn’t/haven’t/won’t they stop this kind of abuse of their position?

When is the guy getting sued for deprivation of rights under color of law?

When is the guy getting sued prosecuted for deprivation of rights under color of law? A sane police chief would have called in uniformed police officers in a marked car.

He probably wanted to hit on her.

So what you seem to be saying is, “unless incidents like this are zero, then all cops are bad”. Sorry FRiend, but as a basis for logical reasoning, that’s just a crock of ignorant sh!t.

Proof? Or at least statistical evidence?

They blindly took orders during covid, even though it was illegal and unconstitutional. They showed their true colors.

Are you talking about these WV cops? Or all cops everywhere?

I believe that the line of reasoning here is: "Since we can never be absolutely sure of the moral standing of the particular cop now standing before us (if he even is a cop!), it is best to make no naive assumptions and rather to proceed with great caution."

It’s only gotten worse since police were hired in spite of drug use.

I guess the shirt that had the word “police” on it, the blue lights on the unmarked car, and the black handgun screamed police impersonation! The cop may have overreacted, but this idiot driver is at fault, too

Your assertion is absurd. If most cops were like this one, we’d hear scores of such reports every week, not just an occasional few across a year. People who “back the blue” aren’t backing the bad apples, just the decent LEOs who go out every day, deal with the dregs of society and hope they can go home to their families.
