"So the front line troops in the Donbass suffered." The AFU Donbass soldiers did one hell of a good job holding Russia to taking less than 100 square miles in a year and a half. This also shows how badly degraded the Russian army is in all areas. RU forces were unable to take more in the Donbas, and were completely unaware of the Ukrainian build up near Kursk until the AFU was in Russian territory.
